“I Think I’ll Be Back”
Mar 13, 2023
If there was one character that seems to have gone through a hell of a lot in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen. Heartbroken after ‘Infinity War’ and the death of her love, Vision, Scarlet Witch created a new reality in “WandaVision” and then went on a massive, multiversal killing spree in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” seemingly dying at the end. However, according to Olsen, the Scarlet Witch doesn’t seem like she’ll be away for too long.

Speaking to Deadline, Elizabeth Olsen shed some light on the future of her Marvel character, Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch. As mentioned, we last saw her at the end of ‘Multiverse of Madness,’ seemingly getting crushed under a falling building. But when asked if we might see Wanda show up in the forthcoming “Agatha: Coven of Chaos,” Olsen tried to play coy, unsuccessfully.
“I don’t know, ever, how to answer these questions,” said Olsen. “I think I’ll be back.”
“Agatha: Coven of Chaos” is the first spinoff of the previously mentioned “WandaVision.” The new series stars Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, the evil witch that Wanda Maximoff beat in “WandaVision.” Not much else is known about the new show, other than Hahn is returning as Agatha. But apparently, Olsen is confirming that Scarlet Witch will be making a comeback in the series, as well. Obviously, we don’t know how that will work, at this point.

Now, it’s silly to imagine that Scarlet Witch would stay “dead” in the MCU. Phase 4 proved the character is one of the more popular in the connected universe, and Elizabeth Olsen is one of the biggest stars working at Marvel at the moment. So, it makes sense for Scarlet Witch to return at some point.
“Agatha: Coven of Chaos” is set to begin production this year and it’s unclear when we might see it on Disney+. Originally, many thought we’d see the series in late-2023, but with Marvel reportedly changing course on how quickly new series are premiering, it could get pushed deeper into 2024 than fans are expecting. We’ll have to wait and see.
