‘I Will Find You’ First Look Reveals Sam Worthington in Netflix’s Next Harlan Coben Adaptation

Aug 20, 2025

Netflix has revealed our first look at what’s sure to be the streamer’s next smash-hit crime thriller binge-watch. The popular platform has found huge success in adapting the works of hugely successful author Harlan Coben, and Netflix is no doubt hoping to do it again with its star-studded take on Coben’s mystery thriller novel, I Will Find You. Led by Avatar star Sam Worthington, I Will Find You follows David, “a father serving a life sentence for the murder of his young son Matthew — a crime that he didn’t commit, but a tragedy that he has spent years punishing himself for every day.” But as often occurs in Coben’s stories, Matthew’s fate may not be what it seemed. Offered a clue that his son may, in fact, be alive, “David decides to stage an elaborate prison break — with some help — and goes on the run in order to find out what really happened to his only child.” Told across eight episodes, I Will Find You is now in production and promises to be another gripping caper full of twists and turns. The series has not yet been given a release date, but is now filming, with newly released images taking us behind the scenes and offering our first look at what’s to come.
‘I Will Find You’ Promises All Manner of Twists & Turns

Coming courtesy of THR, the images from I Will Find You reveal our first look at Sam Worthington as David, his ally, Rachel, who is described as “a formerly decorated reporter whose life fell apart after she was fired from her job at the Boston Globe” and will be played by Severance star Britt Lower, and This Is Us star Milo Ventimiglia as Hayden, who the pair turn to while trying to evade capture by the authorities. The rest of the cast includes Logan Browning and Chi McBride “as the FBI agents tasked with capturing David,” with Madeleine Stowe and Clancy Brown having also now joined the cast as recurring guest stars. Stowe will play Gertrude Payne, described as a “wealthy heiress who is harboring a very dark secret,” with Brown playing Nicky Fisher, a “semi-retired, old-school mobster who has a startling personal connection to the Burroughs family that threatens to expose long-buried secrets.” Following the success of prior Netflix adaptations Safe, The Stranger, Fool Me Once, Missing You, and more, audiences know what to expect from a Harlan Coben story. And Sam Worthington has teased that, as expected, many twists and turns lie in store for David as he fights to uncover the truth about his son.
“Many truths… and in the melodramatic world of Harlan, he’s going to have to face many twists to get to it. The ugliest truth, in the end, is still better than the prettiest of lies. Harlan said his settings are very placid pools of family life and within that he can make pretty big splashes. I thought that was a very cool way to describe what he creates. With characters, I love men who are stuck between accepting and embracing their true selves, or conforming to the cliches of protector, enforcer or some antiquated idea of what makes you strong and tough. I wanted to explore that with the character of David Burroughs, too.”
