Ironheart Footage Finally Revealed After Tumultuous Production Issues
Aug 13, 2024
Ironheart footage has finally been released! Fans have been hesitantly hopeful about the Black Panther spinoff series ever since it was announced, and it looks like the thousands of people in attendance at D23 this year loved the footage they saw. Executive producer and Black Panther director Ryan Coogler joined stars Dominique Thorne and Anthony Ramos to debut the first look footage. Deadline describes it this way:
“After catching audiences up on the events of Black Panther 2, where Thorne’s Riri Williams played an instrumental role in preserving Wakanda, we learn she is now trying to get out of a creative rut. She’s skipping classes, focusing all her energy — and her university’s resources — on her next project. ‘I want to build something undeniable,’ she says, moments before she gets expelled from MIT. With no more cash flow, she finds a new way to make money in questionable ways by working with Ramos’ The Hood.”

The Midnight Club writer Chinaka Hodge will serve as head writer on the show. Riri Williams, a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man, is expected to become a major player in the MCU going forward. The series has been met with several setbacks behind the scenes, but Marvel producer Nate Moore has previously teased the huge influence that the character will have on the franchise.
“We love the idea of a woman who is potentially as smart as Shuri but has such a different experience with that intelligence. And I think that made her kind of undeniable as part of the fabric of the movie.”
Ironheart stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/Ironheart, Anthony Ramos as Parker Robbins/The Hood, Alden Ehrenreich as Joe McGillicuddy, Lyric Ross as Natalie Washington, Matthew Elam as Xavier Washington, Anji White as Ronnie Williams, Manny Montana as Cousin John, and Shea Couleé as Slug, as well as Jim Rash, Harper Anthony, Zoe Terakes, Regan Aliyah, Shakira Barrera, Rashida “Sheedz” Olayiwola, Sonia Denis, Paul Calderón, Cree Summer. Additionally, Sacha Baron Cohen has reportedly been cast in a mysterious, undisclosed role.
