It Looks Like The Apple TV+ Hit Is Coming Back For Season 4
Aug 26, 2024
It looks like “Ted Lasso” is coming back. For real.
According to Deadline, Warner Bros. Television has picked up contract options for another season for three major actors in “Ted Lasso”—Brett Goldstein, Hannah Waddingham, and Jeremy Swift. The report also claims the studio will begin negotiations with the actors whose contracts expired. Those folks include Jason Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt, and Juno Temple. One actor who isn’t expected to return is Phil Dunster, as he has prior commitments to other shows that he is part of.
All of this isn’t a guarantee that “Ted Lasso” will be returning for Season 4. There are still outstanding issues such as budgeting and the aforementioned contract negotiations. The report continues to say that if Sudeikis doesn’t come back, the show just wouldn’t move forward. (Obviously.) If any of that hits a snag, there is still the option for WBTV to not move forward.

It is obvious why WBTV and Apple TV+ would be interested in more “Ted Lasso.” The series, which debuted during a time when there seemed to be a lot of dark and grim streaming shows, was a breath of fresh air with its upbeat tone and good-natured story. “Ted Lasso” would also go on to be one of the most awarded series of the past 5 years, earning numerous Emmys and other awards.
Even if Season 4 of “Ted Lasso” is greenlit, we still don’t know when we might see it hit Apple TV+. But when it does, it will easily be one of the most anticipated shows.
