J.K. Simmons Confirms ‘Invincible’ Season 4 Production Has Begun

Feb 11, 2025

The first three episodes of Invincible Season 3 were only just released on Prime Video, but some fans are already looking ahead to Season 4. Thankfully, Omni-Man himself (J.K. Simmons), has them covered with a positive update on the next season. Invincible Thursdays have made a triumphant return, as Mark Grayson struggles to balance being a full-time superhero with caring for his young half-brother, Oliver, and starting a new relationship with Atom Eve (finally!). The first three episodes were an excellent return to form for the show that lost many viewers due to Season 2’s lengthy mid-season break. But Invincible is back, and according to J.K. Simmons, it’s here to stay.
During an interview with Collider, Simmons revealed that the show’s creator, Robert Kirkman, and the Invincible team have already begun work on Season 4. “Oh, we’re on Season 12 already,” Simmons joked when asked how many lines he’s recorded for the next season. “I know it’s a spoiler, but sorry.” After joking around with the interviewer, Simmons revealed that work has already begun on Invincible Season 4. He revealed:

“Yeah, we actually have dipped our toes. Or at least I have into the next season. And I’m looking forward to… I don’t know when in the next coming months, but looking forward to getting back in the studio again.”

Season 3’s debut episodes put Omni-Man on the sidelines, while Mark Grayson’s moral struggles were put under the spotlight. While Mark was dealing with Cecil’s (Walton Goggins) scheming, and Oliver (Christian Convery) believing it’s okay to kill his enemies, Omni-Man sat rotting in a Viltrumite prison. However, the coming episodes will likely see a jailbreak of epic proportions as Omni-Man is slowly becoming friends with Allen the Alien (Seth Rogan), who is now even stronger, having been nearly killed by Viltrumite soldiers in Season 2.
‘Invincible’ Could Last for 8 Seasons… Or More

We’re only two and a bit seasons into Invincible and so much has already happened. Omni-Man decimated the original Guardians of the Globe and almost took over the Earth, before having a moral crisis and fleeing the planet. Meanwhile, the new Guardians of the Globe battled various threats on Earth and in space before getting destroyed by the Serpent Society, and Mark Grayson learned that Omni-Man was one of the weaker Viltrumute soldiers when he was beaten to a pulp by a mysterious messenger. Many shows don’t have that much plot in their entire runs. However, Invincible creator Robert Kirkman is nowhere near finished. In fact, he’s not even halfway through adapting the comic books.

‘Invincible’ Fans Can Stay on Prime Video for This Fantasy Show With a 100% Rotten Tomatoes Score

‘Invincible’ fans looking for a new series would probably enjoy Critical Role’s epic adult-animated series ‘The Legend of Vox Machina’ on Prime Video.

“The way Simon and I have mapped out, where we would kinda follow the comic and where the breaks would be, roughly eight seasons,” Kirkman said when asked how long Invincible could run for. But, even that estimate might be selling it short. “Could be seven, could be ten.” Of course, that all depends on Prime Video wanting to extend the show that far. Given its current ratings and reviews, that’s a very likely probability. Invincible Season 3 holds a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and was the most watched series on the streamer when it was released last week.
