Jeremy Renner Series ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Adds Edie Falco, Laura Benanti, and Lennie James

Feb 8, 2025

In an exciting bit of news via Deadline, the fourth season of the Paramount+ original series Mayor of Kingstown is adding several award-winning actors to the roster. Emmy winner Edie Falco, Tony winner Laura Benanti, and BAFTA winner Lennie James are all joining the cast next season, which is led by Academy Award Nominee Jeremy Renner. The series, which is one of many created by Taylor Sheridan for the streaming service, follows the influential McLusky family in Kingstown, MI, who ensure the industry of incarceration keeps the town afloat through back alley dealings and struggles for power both inside and outside the prison.
Falco will join Mayor of Kingstown in a series regular role as Nina Hobbs, Anchor Bay’s new prison warden. In what is called a “season-long arc,” James will play Frank Moses, a well-known and influential gangster in Detroit, Michigan, and beyond. Benanti is in another series regular role as Cindy Stephens, a correctional officer new to Kingstown. The rest of the cast includes Taylor Handley as Kyle McLusky, Emma Laird as Iris, Hugh Dillon as Ian, Derek Webster as Stevie, Hamish Allan-Headley as Robert, Nishi Munshi as Tracy, and Aidan Gillen as Milo Sunter.
The series’ third season was a surprising change of pace, which was partly due to the fact that Jeremy Renner had just survived a life-threatening snow plow accident. Renner would touch on how filming the third season took a toll on his body, which had already gone through a traumatic incident, so it will be interesting to see how the actor approaches his work in the show’s fourth season.
The New Additions To ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Are No Strangers to Stressful Series

The new cast members rounding out Season 4 of the Paramount+ original have their work cut out for them, and thankfully, the actors new to the series aren’t inexperienced when it comes to high-strung and intense shows. Falco, who most recently starred in the 2023 comedy I’ll Be Right There and is set to reprise her role as General Frances Ardmore in Avatar: Fire and Ash, is perhaps best known for her role as Carmela Soprano in HBO’s The Sopranos. As the wife of mob boss Tony, Falco displayed powerful and emotional acting, making her a suitable fit for the cutthroat world of Kingstown.

All 7 TV Shows and Movies Taylor Sheridan Is Currently Working On

Taylor Sheridan is one of Hollywood’s most exciting talents, with the writer, director, & producer extraordinaire having notably created Yellowstone.

James is also best known for a television role, as the actor played Morgan Jones in The Walking Dead, a supporting character and one of the first survivors Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) would meet in the show. James would eventually become the star of the spinoff Fear the Walking Dead, which eventually ended with Season 8 in 2023. The actor has successfully played the character in various psychological states, from unhinged to pacifist, which will hopefully help the actor portray a nuanced and formidable criminal.
Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 is shaping up to be an exciting entry in the series. Hopefully, it will maintain the same level of quality as Season 3, which received much more positive reviews than the first two. Falco, James, and Benanti have a chance to leave their mark on the epic crime series, as the stakes only grow higher for the McLusky family and Renner’s character Mike.
