A podcaster and a rabbi walk into a dinner party. Yep, that’s the catchy premise of a new unlikely romance rom-com from creator Erin Foster, known for her acting gigs on “The O.C.” and “Roswell,” and a writer on the NBC sitcom “The New Normal.”
The series stars Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, along with Justine Lupe and Timothy Simons. Additional cast members include Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitcock, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, Jackie Tohn, Sherry Cola, and Shiloh Berman.

“This show really represents how I view love now, which is so different than how I viewed it before,” Foster said in an interview with Tudum about her semi-autobiographical series about a Los Angeles podcaster who meets the love of her life. “Being in a really beautiful, healthy, fun relationship, it made me soften some of my cynicism.”
Here’s the official synopsis:
An agnostic podcast host and an unconventional rabbi on the rebound walk into a party. When they walk out — together — the unlikely pair, Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody), can tell there is something between them. But also potentially between them, with their differing outlooks on life, all of the modern obstacles to love, and their sometimes well-meaning, sometimes sabotaging families — including her sister Morgan (Justine Lupe) and his brother Sasha (Timothy Simons). From creator Erin Foster, Nobody Wants This debuts September 26, only on Netflix.
