Alongside the terrifyingly stunning first footage, which teases all manner of monster mayhem as well as the triumphant return of Kong, Apple TV has also now revealed when Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 will make its streaming debut. Debuting its first season back in 2023, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters was created by Chris Black and Matt Fraction and brings the Monsterverse to the small screen on Apple TV. Picking up following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco in the big screen outing, Godzilla vs. Kong, the series tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Based on the Monsterverse from Legendary, the dramatic saga that is Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 will continue to span three generations as it reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 is now all set to debut on Apple TV on February 27, 2026, and you can check out both the trailer and the newly revealed synopsis below…
Season two will pick up with the fate of Monarch — and the world — hanging in the balance. The dramatic saga reveals buried secrets that reunite our heroes (and villains) on Kong’s Skull Island, and a new, mysterious village where a mythical Titan rises from the sea. The ripple effects of the past make waves in the present day, blurring the bonds between family, friend and foe — all with the threat of a titan event on the horizon.

‘Monarch: Legacy of Monster’ Has Been a Gargantuan Hit for Apple TV

Monarch: Legacy of Monster Season 2 will star Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Wyatt, Russell, Joe Tippett and Anders Holm. To the delight of fans, it has also now been confirmed that Kurt Russell, who, alongside his real-life son Wyatt Russell, played Army officer Lee Shaw across two time periods in the first season, will return for Season 2. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters was nothing less than a monstrous hit befitting the legendary Titans when it debuted back in 2023. The series now stands at an impressive 87% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes (77% from audiences on the Popcornmeter), received several award nods, and ranked highly in viewership on Apple TV. At the time, MovieWeb’s own Olly Dyche heaped praise on the small screen expansion of the Monsterverse, calling it a “Grounded and Fascinating Dive” into the origins of the iconic beasts.
