LEGACY OF MONSTERS Trailer Teases the Next Half of the First Season — GeekTyrant

Dec 12, 2023

Apple TV+ has released a trailer for its Godzilla series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. This show has actually been decent, and the story is better than what we’ve seen in the films that Legendary has produced. The recently released the first trailer for Godzilla x Kong: A New Empire, which will feature a hot pink Godzilla! I just have to say, though, that nothing Legendary has produced is as good as the Godzilla movie currently in theaters, Godzilla Minus One. That Toho-produced movie wipes the floor with anything that Legendary has made. Anyway, the new trailer for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters offers a preview of the back half of the first season. The first four episodes are now streaming on Apple TV+, and the mid-season trailer also recaps the events up to this point. Spanning three generations, the series follows “the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch.”It’s explained that “Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows.”The epic saga spans three generations and “reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.”The cast also includes Anna Sawai (Pachinko), Ren Watabe (461 Days of Bento), Kiersey Clemons (Hearts Beat Loud), Joe Tippett (Mare of Easttown), Anders Holm (The Mindy Project), and Elisa Lasowski. The series was developed by Chris Black and Matt Fraction, and Matt Shakman (WandaVision, Fantastic Four) directed the first two episodes. All three of the are also executive producers. Additionally, Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita executive produce on behalf of Toho Co., Ltd., the owner of the Godzilla character.
