Lily Collins’ Romantic Comedy Series Returns In September

Aug 26, 2024

When canceling a series, Netflix will face some controversy.  Fans are quick to flock to social media to object to such a decision.  But if viewership doesn’t match a show’s budget, pulling the plug is something the streamer will do both without warning and regardless of the opinions of the viewing public.  Just look at “Glow,” “Mindhunter,” and “Altered Carbon,” to name a few series that got the proverbial ax.

Thankfully, this is not the case with “Emily in Paris,” which early last year became the most-watched series on Netflix after the airing of its third season. The Darren Star-produced comedy series about the romantic exploits of an American woman in Paris will be returning for its fourth season in August.

Lily Collins returns as Emily.  The upcoming season also stars Lucas Bravo, Lucien Laviscount, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Camille Razat, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, and William Abadie.  Creator and writer Darren Star (“Sex and the City,” “Beverly Hills 90210”) also serves as producer along with Lily Collins.
The end of Season 3 saw the wedding between Camille and Gabrielle completely backfire. Emily discovers Gabriel is having a baby with his ex-partner.  Meanwhile her ex-boyfriend Alfie broke up with Emily after discovering her feelings for Gabriel.  At the company, Agence Grateu, an employee shake-up has Emily’s boss Sylvie confronting her past, and Mindy gets ready for Eurovision.
Here’s the synopsis:
After the dramatic events of Camille and Gabriel’s misbegotten wedding, Emily is reeling: She has strong feelings for two men, but now Gabriel’s expecting a baby with his ex, and Alfie’s worst fears about her and Gabriel have been confirmed. At work, Sylvie is forced to confront a thorny dilemma from her past for the sake of her marriage, and the Agence Grateau team navigates personnel shakeups. Mindy and the band prepare for Eurovision, but when funds run dry, they’re forced to get thrifty. Emily and Gabriel’s chemistry is undeniable as they work together towards a Michelin star, but two big secrets threaten to undo everything they’ve dreamed of.
Part 2 of Season 4 of “Emily In Paris” will premiere on Netflix on August 15. Watch the trailer below.
