Lizzy Caplan & Joshua Jackson Star As The Couple In An Affair That Turns Deadly

Apr 3, 2023

Got some IP and established brands audiences know? Great, we’ll turn it into something. That’s seemingly the thinking of all Hollywood studios and certainly Paramount’s idea about their iconic affair drama, “Fatal Attraction.” Dubbed as a deep-dive reimagining of the classic psychosexual thriller and ’80s cultural touchstone, “Fatal Attraction” like so many adult drama thrillers, is being reimagined as a TV series, and it premieres Sunday, April 30, with three episodes exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada.

Instead of Michael Douglas and Glenn Close in the leads—the original premise centers on a married man’s one-night stand that comes back to haunt him when that lover begins to stalk him and his family— the series stars Joshua Jackson (Dan Gallagher), and Lizzy Caplan (Alex Forrest).
Today, Paramount+ revealed the first official trailer and poster for the upcoming original series. The final two episodes will be available to stream on Sunday, May 28.
Here’s the official synopsis:
The all-new series is a deep dive reimagining of the 1980s cultural touchstone FATAL ATTRACTION through the lens of privilege, personality disorders, family dynamics, and murder. In the present day, after serving 15 years in prison for the murder of Alexandra Forrest (Lizzy Caplan), Daniel Gallagher (Joshua Jackson) is paroled with the goals of reconnecting with his family and proving his innocence. In 2008, Dan first meets Alex, and his world begins to unravel after their brief affair threatens to destroy the life he’s built with his wife, Beth (Amanda Peet).
“Fatal Attraction” stars Joshua Jackson as Dan Gallagher, Lizzy Caplan as Alex Forrest, Amanda Peet as Beth Gallagher, Toby Huss as Mike Gerard, Brian Goodman as Arthur Tomlinson, Alyssa Jirrels as Ellen Gallagher, and Reno Wilson as Detective Earl Brooker.
Alexandra Cunningham (“Dirty John,” “Chance”) serves as writer, showrunner, and executive producer on the series alongside executive producer Kevin J. Hynes (“Perry Mason”), with whom Cunningham developed the series, and executive producers Darryl Frank (“The Americans”) and Justin Falvey (“The Americans”) for Amblin Television. Silver Tree also serves as executive producer and directed five episodes. Paramount Television Studios produce FATAL ATTRACTION.
