New images of the crew of Loki showing off their wrap gifts suggests season 2 has completed filming.

As one of the biggest Marvel Studios shows to hit Disney+, the second season of Loki is one that is being hotly anticipated by fans, especially considering its ties to the Multiverse Saga. Now, thanks to a new Twitter post by season 2 crew members, it looks like principal filming on the show could be complete. While this is not likely to be the last filming that takes place for the show, with future pick-ups and potential reshoots always a possibility, it does seem that the main shooting is all done.

Loki ended its first season with not only a cliffhanger ending but also by introducing a significant step in the progression of the MCU into the multiverse. Having introduced the character of He Who Remains, played by Jonathan Majors, the finale saw that character being dispatched by Loki variant Sylvie. This set in motion a chain reaction that seemingly broke the “sacred timeline,” allowing the multiverse to bleed into the MCU’s reality and start the journey to Secret Wars. The final shot of the season saw Loki discovering himself in a new version of the Time Variance Authority, where no one seemed to know him and a huge statue of Kang the Conqueror adorned the wall.

Loki’s New Adventure is Still Shrouded in Secrecy

Marvel Studios

Although Loki season 2 appears to have wrapped principal photography, what exactly will befall the former MCU villain is yet to be revealed. A number of set images have shown more suggested jumps through time for Tom Hiddleston’s character, including a trip to a 1970s McDonalds, as well as a reunion with Own Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius. However, one question that remains unanswered is whether Jonathan Majors will be back to deliver another performance as a Kang variant.

Since the moment he arrived, Majors has been teasing that he will be playing a number of different versions of the Marvel super-villain as he travels toward Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and, ultimately, Avengers: Secret Wars at the end of the Multiverse Saga. With Majors having already established one Kang variant in the first season of Loki, there could be a good chance that he will be back again for the second. Kevin Feige previously teased the number of times that Kang will make an appearance in the Multiverse Saga, saying:

“It’s amazing, and I said to [Jonathan] there’s nobody’s shoulders I’d rather be putting the multiverse saga on than his. It’s really impressive what Jonathan Majors is able to do and all the different incarnations, variants, if you will, of Kang that we will see him do. It’s really pretty cool. What I love is that he’s totally different from Thanos. That he is completely different. That it’s not just how about there’s a bigger purple guy with a helmet? That’s not what Kang is. Kang is a very different type of villain and the fact that he is many, many different characters is what’s most exciting and most differentiates him.”
