Feb 19, 2024

Summary

Marvel have officially announced
The Fantastic Four
cast for the upcoming MCU reboot.
The film will be directed by Matt Shakman and is set to release in theaters on July 25, 2025, as part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Fantastic Four
will not be an origin story and aims to bring something new and unseen to the beloved superhero family.

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, Marvel Studios has given us the gift that we have been hoping to unwarp for some time as the studio finally announces who will star in The Fantastic Four. Taking to social media, Marvel has shared an image of the first superhero family and confirming that “Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn are The Fantastic Four.”

You can check out the image, which finds Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn in classic costumes and celebrating the Day of Love below.

So, that’s that then at last. We finally know who will don the blue costumes and portray the Fantastic Four when the MCU reboot lands in theaters next year. Best known for his roles in the likes of The Mandalorian and The Last of Us, Pedro Pascal has become one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood. Pascal will now join the MCU fray as Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic the stretchy, super-genius who so often stumbles thanks to his own arrogance and hubris.

Starring alongside Pascal as Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman is Vanessa Kirby. Best recognized for her roles in the likes of the Mission: Impossible franchise, Ridley Scott’s Napoleon, and Pieces of a Woman, for which she was nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award, Kirby has long been rumored for the Fantastic Four role.

Finally, further rumors have turned out to be true, as Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn will star as Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch alongside The Bear actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, aka the Thing. It is still unknown who will play their archenemy, Doctor Doom.

The confirmation ends months and months of rumors and speculation. So, what do you think about the MCU iteration of The Fantastic Four?

The Fantastic Four Will Land in Theaters in July 2025

The Fantastic Four is all set to be helmed by Matt Shakman of WandaVision fame, with a script from Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer, Josh Friedman and Cameron Squires. Plot details for the Fantastic Four reboot are currently unknown, though Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has revealed that it will not be an origin story.

“A lot of people know this origin story. A lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before? We’ve set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen.”

The Fantastic Four is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 25, 2025, as part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The introduction of Marvel’s first family comes alongside the Blade reboot (November 7, 2025), the team-up movie Thunderbolts (May 5, 2025), and the Avengers sequels Avengers 5 (May 1, 2026), and Avengers: Secret Wars (May 7, 2027).
