Marvel’s New “Near-Perfect” Series Officially Sets Early Premiere on Disney+

Oct 13, 2026

Coming off an already-massive year with the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day (the third-highest-grossing movie of all time), Marvel Studios still has an exciting slate of stories to close out the year. The crown jewel of this group is Avengers: Doomsday, which will bring Robert Downey Jr. back as Victor Von Doom and features dozens of MCU and legacy Marvel stars joining forces across the multiverse. The franchise also looks to dominate the streaming world with another live-action Disney+ series, VisionQuest. Starring Paul Bettany as the titular Vision, this show will complete a trilogy of stories that started with 2021’s WandaVision and 2024’s Agatha All Along. Bringing back about half a dozen past Marvel stars (many of them playing classic MCU AI programs), VisionQuest highlights Bettany’s veteran hero in his quest to rediscover himself after his wild experience in the Hex in WandaVision; he will also put his efforts into finding his long-lost son, Ruaridh Mollica’s Tommy Maximoff. Now, as the show looks ahead to its long-awaited release, Marvel has decided to pull back the curtain on Bettany’s solo series a little earlier than expected.

Marvel Studios announced the official release schedule for the upcoming VisionQuest series on Disney+, pushing its debut to an earlier date. Instead of debuting on Oct. 14, 2026, the show’s first two episodes will now be released at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET on Oct. 13, 2026. From there, the next two weeks will have double-episode releases on Oct. 20 and Oct. 27. Episode 7 will then debut on Disney+ on Nov. 3, and the series finale will arrive on Nov. 10.

This comes after VisionQuest earned rave reviews from critics who viewed the series before its release, setting Marvel up for another exciting run on Disney+. Some have called it Marvel’s “best show of 2026,” while others have praised the series as “beautiful, visually striking, and emotionally powerful” before its full debut. Not only will this be Bettany’s first live-action performance since WandaVision, but it will give viewers a deep dive into the MCU’s technological history while also expanding on the Young Avengers story that has been slowly growing over the last decade. VisionQuest will also mark a turning point for the MCU, as its future with live-action Disney+ series is somewhat uncertain after Daredevil: Born Again Season 3. While the newly announced Zodiac series is coming after Born Again, that is the last confirmed season of live-action Disney+ storytelling on Marvel Studios’ schedule. Thankfully, VisionQuest is already garnering serious excitement, as one of the MCU’s best stories reaches a hopefully satisfying conclusion.

The first two episodes of VisionQuest will be available to stream on Disney+ at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET on Oct. 13, 2026.
