One of the best sci-fi comedy shows of recent years is all set to land its latest season on Netflix
. Beginning back in 2021, Resident Alien
stars Alan Tudyk
as “Harry Vanderspeigle,” the titular alien, who, while on a mission to destroy humanity, finds himself stranded in Patience, Colorado after crash landing. He quickly kills and takes over the identity of the real Harry Vanderspeigle, a mysterious doctor on vacation in the sleepy town. The series has been a huge hit since release, and now boasts an overall score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.
While Seasons 1 and 2 of Resident Alien landed on the streaming platform back in February last year, and quickly made their way into the top 10, fans have been left waiting for an update regarding when they will be able to catch up with the escapades of Harry in Season 3. Well, thanks to What’s-on-Netflix, we now know, with Resident Alien Season 3 due to hit Netflix in the United States on February 13th, 2025.
At present, this date is only for Netflix in the U.S., but hopefully the latest season of Resident Alien will find its way into invading other territories soon. Or, at least, before the show returns with Season 4 on USA Network (moving away from original network SyFy), which is expected later this year.
‘Resident Alien’ Has Been Met With Rave Reviews

Created by Chris Sheridan, and based on the Dark Horse comic book of the same name by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, Resident Alien stars Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, and Alice Wetterlund alongside Firefly and Creature Commandos star Alan Tudyk. The series has been met with rave reviews from critics, with Season 1 landing a score of 94% from critics, while Season 2 achieved a perfect 100%. Season 3, meanwhile, currently stands at 92% from audiences on the Popcornmeter. You can check out the official synopsis for the series below.

An alien crashes on Earth and hides in a remote Colorado mountain town. After assuming the identity of the town doctor, Harry Vanderspeigle, his nefarious mission to kill all humans is threatened when he realizes one of the townspeople, a 9-year-old boy, can see his true alien form. Harry starts off living a simple life, but things get a bit rocky when he’s roped into solving a local murder and realizes he needs to assimilate into his new world and slowly begins to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his secret mission on Earth.
