Netflix Releases ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 First Five Minutes Clip
Nov 9, 2025
Stranger Things 5 is not coming to Netflix until the end of the month, but fans can get their first taste of what is to come as the streamer has released the full season opening to get you back in the action. The finale of one of Netflix’s biggest shows promises to be a conclusion worthy of the series’ legacy, but can it stick the landing? Check out the clip below, which appears to confirm the long-held theory of many fans that Will and Vecna’s connection runs deeper than previously suggested. Stranger Things Season 5 will drop its first episodes on November 26, followed by a second drop at Christmas and a feature-length finale on New Year’s Eve. There is a lot of expectation resting on the final season to bring things to a conclusion in a way that does not go down in TV history for the wrong reasons – like Game of Thrones, for example. The one thing that could suggest the series will not go out with a whimper is that the Duffer brothers have had their endgame in mind all along. As they revealed to Variety, they always knew where the series would end.
“Obviously, it’s stressful trying to figure out how you want to end the show. Luckily, it was about six or seven years ago that we knew at least what the final scene is. We always knew what the last 40 minutes were going to be.”
‘Stranger Things’ Finale Will Be a Cinematic Event
While it seemed that the horror of the Upside-Down was about to be confined to homes, in a surprising move, Netflix agreed to a theatrical release of the Stranger Things finale to coincide with the streaming premiere. While Netflix has been a brick wall when it comes to putting their content into theaters, recent years have seen more and more Netflix movies getting limited cinema releases, mainly to allow the streamer to compete in several awards ceremonies. When it comes to the Stranger Things finale, the theatrical release is a dream come true for the Duffers.
“It’s something we’ve dreamed about for years, and we’re so grateful to Ted, Bela, and everyone at Netflix for making it happen. Getting to see it on the big screen, with incredible sound, picture, and a room full of fans, feels like the perfect — dare we say bitchin’ — way to celebrate the end of this adventure.”
We don’t yet know how the series will end, but the season’s synopsis teases one final epic battle to save the world.
“The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”
