Night Country’ Dominate The 2024 Emmy Awards Nominations [Full List]
Jul 17, 2024
Following a historic strike and work stoppage in 2023, there were muted expectations for the quality of new and returning television shows in 2024. As demonstrated by many of the 2024 Emmy Awards nominations, those fears were unfounded. The 24,000+ members of the Television Academy voters spread the wealth but there were favorites. “Shogun,” “The Bear,” “Only Murders in the Building,” and “True Detective: Night Country ” topped all programs with 25, 23, 21, and 19 nominations respectively.

“The Crown” took 18 nominations for its final season while “Saturday Night Live” took 17. “Fallout,” “Hacks,” “The Morning Show,” and “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” earned 16 nominations overall. “Fargo” earned 15 noms while “Ripley” took 13.
On the network side, Netflix took the crown back from HBO with 107. FX was actually second with its most nominations ever with 93 while HBO/Max earned 91 overall. AppleTV+ took 70 while Prime Video earned 40. In theory, the Walt Disney Company eclipsed Netflix as FX combined with ABC (38) Hulu (26), and Disney+ (19) gives you a massive 176 overall.
The 76th Emmy Awards will be handed out on Sunday, Sept. 15 and air live on ABC at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET on ABC. Most of the actual winners, however, will be announced at the Creative Arts Emmys. Those two ceremonies are set for Saturday, Sept. 7, and Sunday, Sept. 8.
