Oppenheimer, Succession, And The Bear Top 2024 PGA Awards

After an eventful Spirit Awards, the industry’s attention shifted to Hollywood and the Ray Dolby Ballroom where the 2024 PGA Awards were handed out. The big winner, obviously, was Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” which took Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Poctures. On the television side, “The Bear,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” “Welcome to Wrexham,” and “Succession” were among the big winners.
oh, and “Beef” of course.

“American Sympony,” which was snubbed by the Academy’s documentary branch took the Documentary award. “Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse” took the Animated Feature prize.
Sarah Michelle Gellar presented the Norman Lear Achievement in Television to Gail Berman.
In a ceremony earlier this week, “Body of Line” was awarded the PGA Innovation Award and the Outstanding Short Form Program went to “Succession: Controlling The Narrative.”
During the ceremony, the PGA announced a landmark initiative for health care for PGA associated productions. In a statement the guild described it as “ensuring health insurance benefits for every qualified producer working full-time in the film and television industry.”
