Paris Jackson Says MICHAEL Biopic Is “Fantasy Land,” Calls Out Colman Domingo — GeekTyrant

Paris Jackson wants her name out of the Michael biopic conversation. After recent remarks from Colman Domingo, the actress and musician made it clear that she had no involvement with the project and doesn’t want to be tied to it.Domingo, who is set to play Joe Jackson in Michael, spoke at the amfAR gala during the Venice Film Festival where he suggested that Michael Jackson’s children had been supportive of the film. “They’re very much in support of our film,” Domingo told People. “I’m excited to be here at amfAR tonight with Paris. It feels like that’s a nice way for us to be together.” He also described Paris as “lovely.”But Paris was quick to set the record straight. Taking to Instagram Stories, she wrote, “[Colman Domingo], don’t be telling people I was ‘helpful’ on the set of a movie I had 0% involvement in lol that is so weird.”In a follow-up post, she explained, “I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest / didn’t sit right with me, and when they didn’t address it, I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys, not my circus. God bless and God speed.”Paris elaborated further after the story picked up attention: “I wasn’t involved at all, aside from giving feedback on the first draft and then getting the feedback that [production] was not actually going to address your notes at all. So I just butted out and left it alone because it’s not my project. They’re going to make whatever they’re going to make.”She went on to call out the nature of Hollywood biopics: “A big section of the film panders to a very specific section of my dad’s fandom that still lives in the fantasy, and they’re gonna be happy with it. The thing about these biopics is it’s Hollywood. “So it’s fantasy land. It’s not real but it’s sold to you as real and a lot of sugar coated … the narrative is being controlled and there’s a lot of inaccuracy and there’s a lot of just full-blown lies. “At the end of the day, that doesn’t really fly with me. I don’t really like dishonesty. I spoke up. I wasn’t heard. I fucked off. That’s it. Y’all are gonna like the fucking movie. So just go watch it. Go enjoy it. Do whatever. Leave me out of it.”Paris also dismissed claims that her absence from the project meant she resented her father. “That’s not my truth. That’s not where I’m coming from. I just prefer honesty over sales and monetary gain. I kind of just don’t want anything to do with that. So I’m gonna fuck off again and I’m gonna keep minding my business. I suggest you do the same.”As for her relationship with Domingo, Paris clarified that they had barely crossed paths, saying they had only met twice, “once at a birthday party and once at the amfAR thing the other night,” adding that “both were hella brief interactions.”Despite the controversy, Michael is still moving forward. The biopic, directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Graham King, is slated for release on April 24, 2026. It stars Nia Long, Miles Teller, and Colman Domingo, alongside Jaafar Jackson, who will portray his late uncle.
