Summary
Paul Walter Hauser can’t reveal my character yet but is thrilled to join
The Fantastic Four
family in some capacity.
Marvel has entrusted Hauser with a distinct character in
The Fantastic Four
movie as he is mapping out how to bring them to life on screen.
After missing out on playing the Penguin, Hauser is grateful to be part of a cinematic universe with Marvel.
The newest actor to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Paul Walter Hauser, teases who he may or may not be playing in The Fantastic Four. One of the most highly anticipated films in The Multiverse Saga is the upcoming The Fantastic Four movie, which will be the third cinematic portrayal of the team. This comes years after Marvel Studios got the character rights back following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.
In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, while chatting about his burgeoning wrestling career, Hauser finally broke his silence on joining the MCU as part of The Fantastic Four cast. When asked if he will be seen physically or just his voice in the film, Hauser shared the following:
Paul Walter Hauser: I know what that question is leading to, which is the asnwer as to which character I’m to play. So all I can say is that I, in some iteration, am in the movie The Fantastic Four until I get fired or recast. So I can’t say anything about the character I’m playing, but know that it is in the sort of lexicon and mythology of The Fantastic Four stories. And it’s a very distinct character that I’m excited to play and I’m kind of mapping out what I’m doing with that right now. But I’ve always wanted to be a part of a cinematic universe. I spent a lot of time trying to campaign to play the Penguin in the Matt Reeves film, and that of course went to Colin Farrell and he did a masterful job and it was totally different than what I was trying to do. So I really appreciate Marvel giving me the time of day and entrusting a role to me in some capacity that I get to be a part of that family. I’m really excited to partake in.

Who Paul Walter Hauser Could Be Playing In The Fantastic Four
H.E.R.B.I.E. And Mole Man Are Two Popular Theories
Ever since Hauser’s casting in The Fantastic Four, there have been various theories on who his mystery character is supposed to be. It’s possible that when The Fantastic Four starts filming this summer, more clues will emerge about his secret character. With Hauser confirming that he is an established player from Marvel Comics, there are two choices that many have speculated he portrays.
While Ralph Ineson has been cast as Galactus, who is confirmed to appear in The Fantastic Four, Mole Man has quickly emerged as another foe that may be in the film, supposedly played by Hauser. However, one of the minor characters in the Fantastic Four comics that is seemingly making their way into the MCU is H.E.R.B.I.E., a robot that works for the team. The MCU has been known for getting actors to lend their great voices to various CGI characters, Hauser as H.E.R.B.I.E. would allow the robot ally to have a lot of personality.
From many of Hauser’s gigs, including Cobra Kai, H.E.R.B.I.E. would make a lot of sense based on his new comments. With a lot of secrecy surrounding The Fantastic Four, time will tell who Hauser is actually playing from the comics. Hopefully, more news for The Fantastic Four will emerge as they get closer to kicking off principal photography.
