Pop Queen Gets Her Own Netflix Concert
Oct 22, 2024
Here’s my story. My daughter begged me to take her to Taylor Swift’s The Era’s concert tour. Tickets and flights and all that ran up past $4,000 dollars, sorry, I can’t do that. But my friend did and he paid around $5K, and spent about 10 hours total getting into a three hour concert in the nosebleeds. Just as he got tickets, “Taylor Swift: The Eras” tour was announced in theaters. I took my daughter to see that, she loved it, and he was livid. Anywhoo, my daughter is also trying to get into the current Olivia Rodrigo “Guts” tour, but hey, Netflix has helped me out again with “Olivia Rodrigo: Guts World Tour” ;).

It’s also a little bit like that line in “Pulp Fiction” where Samuel L. Jackson’s character Jules says, “my girlfriend is a vegetarian, which basically makes me a vegetarian.” So it’s the same, only it’s a pre-teen daughter and music. Olivia Rodrigo can seriously belt out a tune and she can write songs, they’re all pretty damn catchy (I also recommend the “Good For U” version with a string quartet which is great and reminds me of something Bjork would do).
Here’s the official synopsis:
Get ready to scream, cry, dance, and sing your heart out with multi-Platinum, 3x GRAMMY® award-winning singer/songwriter, Olivia Rodrigo. From the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, she’ll sing songs from her latest album, GUTS, and her debut album, SOUR. In this exhilarating concert special, get a look at Olivia on her GUTS world tour and experience her powerful performances about heartbreak and betrayal.
