Jan 8, 2025
Can a game recover from slipping popularity? The Apple TV+ series “Mythic Quest” is back for a fourth season. New episodes see its reunited team facing a difficult task — making their once in-demand game a hit again. ‘Quest’ hails from creators Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, and Megan Ganz. McElhenney and Day star on the hit series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” with Ganz serving as executive producer, writer, and director on various ‘Sunny’ episodes.

An outstanding cast helps make ‘Quest’ a must-watch for many fans. The Playlist’s Brian Tallerico noted their strong performances during the third season. “Mythic Quest” has become more of an “easy hang-out” show thanks to three seasons’ worth of character work by its undeniably talented ensemble,” he wrote.

Co-creator McElhenney stars as Ian Grimm, the egotistical leader whose creative ideas made the game famous but prove to be just as problematic at times. Charlotte Nicdao portrays lead engineer, Poppy Li. Ian and Poppy’s relationship has become a highlight as it represents something platonic instead of the usual relationship tropes. David Hornsby, Danny Pudi, Ashly Burch, Imani Hakim, Jessie Ennis, and Naomi Ekperigin round at the cast for Season 4.
The series’ official synopsis:
“Back under the same fluorescent office lights, the reunited team at Mythic Quest confronts new challenges amongst a changing video game landscape as stars rise, egos clash, relationships bloom and everyone tries to have a little more “work work” life balance.”
Start a new game when the fourth season of “Mythic Quest” debuts. The upcoming season’s first two episodes arrive on Apple TV+ January 29. Subsequent episodes debut weekly through March 26. Catch up on previous series episodes, now streaming on the service.
