Ryan Seacrest Signs Off for Final Time on Live with Kelly and Ryan
Apr 27, 2023
Live with Kelly and Ryan is no more. Previously, Ryan Seacrest announced he would be leaving the show, marking the end of his run co-hosting the show with Kelly Ripa. Ripa has been on the show since she joined Regis Philbin in 2001, and after hosting solo and alongside Michael Strahan at one point, she partnered up with Seacrest for Live with Kelly and Ryan in 2017. Together, the two have helped keep the show as the No. 1 daytime talk show.
Friday’s episode marked the final edition of Live with Kelly and Ryan, as it was Seacrest’s last episode. Seacrest and Ripa were both emotional throughout the show, which saw Dr. Jill Biden appearing as the final guest to be interviewed for this version of Live. Perhaps the most emotional part came at the end when Seacrest addressed the viewers to say his farewells, thanking everyone from both sides of the camera for the support they’d given him in that job.
“Today, it’s hard to put into words how deeply I’ve appreciated being here, and being with you, being invited into your homes every day to try and deliver a smile, or a laugh or two. I’m honored to be part of this family. I’m blessed with so many memories.”
Then addressing Ripa directly, Seacrest added, “I so appreciate your leadership, your love, your wisdom, and I really do feel like a family member, and we will have that forever, and I will miss you the second we say goodbye today… at least for the weekend.”
“I’m going with you,” Ripa says back, giving Seacrest a hug.

Ryan Seacrest Moves On
ABC
It was February when Seacrest said he would be leaving Live with Kelly and Ryan. At the time, it was reported that Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, would be serving as Seacrest’s successor. As such, the show will now be rebranded as Live with Kelly and Mark. Viewers of the show might miss Seacrest, but the transition will be helped by the fact that Consuelos has often appeared as a guest on the show and is very familiar to regular viewers.
Working alongside Kelly over the past six years has been a dream job and one of the highlights of my career,” Seacrest said on the show. “She has been an amazing partner, friend, and confidant, and although we will always be a part of each other’s lives, I will miss our mornings together.”
He added, “I also want to thank Michael Gelman and the entire staff and crew – we’ve made memories to last a lifetime, met some of the most incredible people and had the warmest welcome into the homes of so many viewers across America. It’s been a memorable ride and now I’m excited to pass the baton to Kelly’s ‘real’ husband, Mark.”
