Spider-Man 2’s Amazing Train Sequence Gets Surprising New LEGO Set
Jan 28, 2025
Tobey Maguire
’s Spider-Man is back…but not in the way fans had perhaps hoped. The former web-slinger, who led his own Marvel trilogy for director Sam Raimi before returning to the role 14 years later for 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home in the MCU, is getting his own LEGO set after all these years. Maguire and Raimi’s Spider-Man sequel, Spider-Man 2, is somehow now more than 20 years old. The comic book outing is still considered one of the best ever made, with one of the movie’s best sequences now being immortalized in LEGO form.
According to a post by a.clay.brick on Instagram (via brickfanatics), the new LEGO set will transform the gripping train sequence, which sees Maguire’s Peter Parker do battle with Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus while atop a speeding train, into brick. And no doubt every Spider-Man fan will want to quickly web-sling this one into their collection.
LEGO’s “Spider-Man 2 Train Battle set (76321)” is now scheduled to be released in August 2025, and will have a price tag of $49.99 for 393 pieces. If you’ve purchased LEGO (let’s be honest, who hasn’t?) then you’ll notice that the price tag is surprisingly cheap. Meaning that the Spider-Man 2 set is likely to be hugely popular when it lands on shelves.
Will Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man Return to the MCU?
The sudden emergence of a Spider-Man 2 LEGO set is sure to have fans’ imaginations churning. Does this mean Tobey Maguire is going to reprise the role again in the MCU? Or perhaps even in the long-awaited Spider-Man 4? Could LEGO release more sets of older movies, perhaps giving Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man the same treatment? For now, fans can look forward to reliving one of the greatest action sequences in comic book movie history as Spider-Man fights for New York City against the evil schemes of Doc Ock.

Spider-Man 2 Does One Thing Better Than Any Other Spidey Adaptation
It has been 20 years since Spider-Man 2 swung into theaters, and no Spider-Man film has been better at showing the struggles of being a hero.
As for Spider-Man, the character is all set to return to the big screen in a fourth outing for Tom Holland. While details of the follow-up remain under wraps at present, it was recently revealed that the MCU sequel will hit theaters on July 24, 2026, following the release of Avengers: Doomsday. Current rumors claim that, while the initial plan for Spider-Man 4 was to create a smaller, street-level adventure, the machinations of the MCU have now intervened and changed it instead into another grand, multiverse of madness. Which could mean that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will once again suit up alongside Tom Holland, much like the trio did in Spider-Man: No Way Home. But, if Spider-Man 4 is not the time, then Maguire and Garfield are expected to return in the Avengers follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, which will see all manner of Marvel variants doing battle and joining forces in equal measure for the sake of the multiverse.
