Stars Kelly Reilly & Cole Hauser To Return For Season 6 Of The Popular Show

Aug 27, 2024

Well, it appears all that talk about “Yellowstone” coming to an end with the second half of Season 5 was for nothing. Everyone just kinda assumed it was happening because Kevin Costner was no longer involved and there had been reports of spinoffs coming. However, according to Deadline, “Yellowstone” isn’t going anywhere.

The report from Deadline says Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser have been negotiating “for months” about a return to “Yellowstone” for Season 6. In this new deal, they would be the de facto leads for the series moving forward, taking over for the departed Costner. That said, no deals have been made, but the expectation is that Season 5, which will end later this year, will not be the end of the series.
Part of the reason people just assumed “Yellowstone” would end after Season 5 was the announcement of “The Madison,” a spinoff of the series that takes place in the current day. That series, which stars Michelle Pfeiffer is expected to debut after Season 5 of “Yellowstone,” but it’s not going to take over as the main series in the ever-expanding universe.

“Yellowstone” tells the story of the Dutton Family, who owns the largest cattle ranch in the U.S. but is forever fighting battles with the local government and other corporations. The show gained popularity as it highlights modern cowboys and shows an aspect of American society that is often not portrayed in popular TV.
The series has been falsely labeled as a “Republican show,” as many of its fans are from the middle of the country and the south, aka Red States. However, as creator-writer-director Taylor Sheridan has said often, the series has no political leanings, other than to show an appreciation for the natural world.
The second half of Season 5 is expected to arrive on November 10. You can see the teaser below:
