Stephanie Hsu Stars In Peacock’s New Take On The Rom-Com

The “rom-com” has been pretty stagnant over the years. Even though there are plenty of films and TV series that offer a new take on the genre, they hardly ever break the mold. “Laid” is hoping to change that.

As seen in the teaser for the series, “Laid” tells the story of a woman who finds out that her former lovers are all dying in unusual ways. So, she has to go through her dating history to find out what’s happening, while also trying to prevent it from happening to her former lovers that are still alive. All of this forces her to confront her past and figure out a way to move forward.

The series stars Stephanie Hsu, Zosia Mamet, Michael Angarano, Tommy Martinez, Andre Hyland, Olivia Holt, David Denman, Finneas O’Connell, Chloe Fineman, Ettore “Big E” Ewen, and John Early. “Laid” comes from co-showrunners Nahnatchka Khan and Sally Bradford McKenna.
“Laid” is set to debut on Peacock on December 19. You can watch the new teaser below.

A woman finds out her former lovers are dying in unusual ways and must go back through her sex timeline to confront her past in order to move forward – “Laid” is a f*cked up rom-com where the answer to “why can’t I find love, is there something wrong with me?” is a resounding “Yes. There is. The problem is definitely you.”
