‘Superman’ Promo Image of David Corenswet as DCU Hero Leaks Online
Mar 20, 2025
Superman has become one of the most anticipated movies of 2025, and audiences have gotten a new look at David Corenswet’s depiction of the famous superhero ahead of the expected second trailer in the next few weeks. The teaser trailer for Superman back in December broke records as the most-watched teaser in Warner Bros. history, showing a growing appetite to see the first superhero return to the big screen. The hype is so significant that fans likely tuned into the Puppy Bowl to see the breakout star of the trailer, Krypto.
DC Film News X’s account showcased a new look at Corenswet as Superman. The image appears to be for promotional material for the film, as opposed to an official still. Fans not only get a better look at the suit and its details, but the image’s background also showcases classic Superman comics, including the character’s first appearance in Action Comics #1 from 1938. Take a look at the image below.
It’s the Summer of ‘Superman’
A lot is riding on Superman, both in terms of the Warner Bros. 2025 slate of films and the future of the DCU. The studio is pulling out all the stops, aiming for a marketing campaign similar to Barbie’s in 2023. The big marketing push for Superman will kick into high gear on Apr. 1, 2025, at CinemaCon, where the second trailer is expected to debut. Then, on Apr. 18, Warner Bros. will offer guests a one-day, Superman-themed tour of its Burbank Studio lot to celebrate Superman Day. DC Comics will also have a “Summer of Superman” publishing initiative featuring comics and graphic novels of all ages aimed at promoting the Man of Steel. Superman is shouldering the burden of a studio and rebooted cinematic universe, but the Kryptonian hero would not have it any other way.

2025’s ‘Superman’ vs. ‘Fantastic Four’ Box Office Battle Has Already Hinted At a Possible Winner
DC and Marvel are both back in the cinemas with some big hitters this year, and two of the biggest have already sparred with their trailers.
While Warner Bros. certainly had big marketing pushes for both Man of Steel and Superman Returns due to the monumental nature of the character, the hype around James Gunn’s film feels different. It might be the most exciting a new Superman film has felt since 1978’s Superman: The Movie starring Christopher Reeve. Gunn has undoubtedly played a clever game with the marketing for the film ever since the first photo of the Superman crest was revealed on Feb. 29, 2024. DC Studios even skipped San Diego Comic-Con 2024 as part of Gunn and DC Studios co-president Peter Safran’s deliberate global campaign.
Expectations are high for the next Superman trailer. It is highly likely it will be released and ready to play in front of A Minecraft Movie, the studio’s big family film for April, which opens three days after CInemaCon starts. The trailer will also likely play in front of Warner Bros.’s big Easter weekend release, Sinners, which opens on Superman Day. Hopefully, the new footage looks as great as the teaser because it feels safe to assume it will play in front of films like Thunderbolts*, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, and Lilo & Stitch several months before Superman flies into theaters this July.
