The sequel to The Housemaid has cast a star from one of the year’s biggest television shows. The Housemaid’s Secret will see star Sydney Sweeney return as Millie in a sequel to the surprise box-office hit The Housemaid. Director Paul Feig will return to helm the sequel, and the film has already assembled a talented cast, including Kirsten Dunst, Paul Anthony Kelly, and Brittany Snow. Joining the cast is one of the leading men of Prime Video’s steamy romance, Off Campus.

Stephen Kalyn has been cast in The Housemaid’s Secret, according to Variety. Kalyn is best known for playing Dean DiLaurentis on Off Campus. In The Housemaid’s Secret, Kalyn will play Brock, the lawyer boyfriend of Sweeney’s character, who knows nothing about her criminal past. Kalyn’s other credits include Gen V and Motorheads. The Housemaid’s Secret is an adaptation of the 2023 novel of the same name by author Freida McFadden. The story follows Millie as she takes a job caring for a home for a woman she is never allowed to see, ultimately discovering a dark secret behind a mysterious door. Dunst will play the mysterious Mrs. Garrick, with Paul Anthony Kelly set to play her husband, Douglas. Brittany Snow will play Marybeth, an unassuming receptionist at Mr. Garrick’s company. The Housemaid’s Secret is set for release on Dec. 17, 2027.

Kalyn landing a role in The Housemaid’s Secret is the latest step in the actor’s growing career. His character, Dean DiLaurentis, is set to be one of the lead characters for Off Campus Season 2, alongside Mika Abdalla as Alle Hayes. The season will further explore their romance and adapt the third book in the series, The Score. Shay Rudolph has joined the cast of Off Campus Season 2 as Summer DiLaurentis, the sister of Kalyn’s character, Dean. Off Campus Season 2 is currently rumored to air in mid-2027.

With lead roles in a sequel to the $400-million worldwide hit The Housemaid and Season 2 of Prime Video’s third-biggest debut series, Stephen Kalyn is looking at a very good 2027. Co-star Sydney Sweeney is also looking at a big 2027, as she will star in and co-produce The Custom of the Country, an adaptation of the 1913 novel by Edith Wharton. The film is currently awaiting an official release date. Sweeney will also star in Gundam, set to debut on Netflix on an as-yet-unknown 2027 release date.
