Taylor Sheridan Has An Upcoming Show “No One Knows Much About” That Has “Four Of The Biggest Movie Stars Alive In It”

Dec 22, 2022

Taylor Sheridan looks like he has another hit on his hands with “1923,” the second prequel series to his TV sensation “Yellowstone.” And there are even more “Yellowstone” prequels on the way: “6666,” set in modern-day Texas, and “1883: The Bass Reeves Story.” But the most exciting upcoming Sheridan project may be one no one knows about: a show he’s shot secretly with some huge movie stars.

Sheridan revealed the upcoming series in a new interview with Deadline. “I don’t want to spoil it because I’ve got a show that no one knows much about that I’ve almost wrapped shooting the whole thing,” said Sheridan. “It’s got probably four of the biggest movie stars alive in it, and we’ve kept it quiet.” How does a filmmaker of Sheridan’s popularity keep a series with four movie stars quiet? Well, the cat’s out of the bag now, although Sheridan didn’t have any other details on the project.
So, let’s speculate on what this upcoming series could be. The most obvious option is “Lioness,” Sheridan’s forthcoming series about a marine recruited by the CIA to help take down a terrorist organization from within.  Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldaña star in the series, with Kidman also on board as an executive producer. That’s two of the four movie stars Sheridan references right there. But “Lioness” isn’t exactly a secret. News about the show broke in February, along with Kidman and Saldaña’s casting, so that doesn’t qualify as under wraps.
In that case, maybe the project is an all-new one from Sheridan, something that feels impossible considering he has “Yellowstone,” its spin-offs, and then “Mayor Of Kingstown” and “Tulsa King,” too. Which begs the question: how on earth does Sheridan have enough time to handle all of those shows plus another series with huge talents involved? Juggling all of those projects is a seriously impressive feat, but add one more in the mix, and it feels a little ludicrous.
But if Sheridan has a new series with four of the biggest movies stars on the planet in it, bet that news about it will drop very, very soon. Bet that some Sheridan regulars are in the show, too. But mystery aside, it’s not surprising that Sheridan’s already expansive TV empire gets a little larger.
