THE BOYS Showrunner Teases “The Batsh*t Craziest Thing We’ve Ever Done” in Season 4 — GeekTyrant

Dec 15, 2023

The Boys creative team put effort into pushing the boundaries of what they can do in their hit superhero series. If you thought the third season had some insane stuff, get ready because The Boys Season 4 is going to give us the “most batshit” moment in the show’s history. This comment comes from showrunner Eric Kripke, who said on X that the scene is so crazy, that he can’t believe they actually got away with it: “I would just like to add that I was in [post-production] today, working on a season 4 scene that miiiiiiight be the batshit craziest thing we’ve ever done? Like I truly can’t believe we got away with it.”It’s good to know that Kripke and the show’s creative team continue to push the envelope. The series has featured superhero orgies, ass bombs, and an insane amount of brutally bloody deaths. It’ll be interesting to see what this “batshit craziest” thing will be. Homelander actor Antony Starr previously commented on shooting Season 4: “There has to be a ceiling, but we can’t seem to find it. I was looking at the person I was opposite, and I said, ‘What are we doing? I can’t believe this! I could have done anything else with my life, but here I am doing this?’ It was truly the most bizarre thing I’ve ever done.”In Season 4, “The world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son as well as his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.”The Boys is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formidable Vought backing. The series stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Cameron Crovetti, and Season 4 newcomers include Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The Boys Season 4 premieres 2024.
