The Gift of Laughter Clip Goes Behind the Scenes with Burnett

Carol Burnett is an all-time icon, one of the most important people in the field of comedy and television in general. Her six Emmy Awards, Mark Twain Award, Presidential Medal of Freedom, and many more awards only hint at her legendary career, from her groundbreaking comedy work in television beginning 60 years ago on The Gary Moore Show to her recent appearance on the critically acclaimed Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul.

On April 26th, fans can celebrate and appreciate her life with Celebrating Carol: The Gift of Laughter, a streaming event and pre-show of sorts to NBC’s upcoming Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter and Love, the event will be streamed on Shout! Comedy fans far and wide can tune in to a one-on-one sit down with comedy legend Carol Burnett discussing her favorite moments from her storied career. Additionally, audiences can see exclusive red carpet footage from NBC’s “Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter and Love,” including interviews with Cher, Dame Julie Andrews, Rhea Seehorn and Jane Lynch. Viewers can look forward to behind-the-scenes commentary on iconic sketches from “The Carol Burnett Show,” including “Went With The Wind,” “Double Calamity,” and more. In exclusive interview footage, Carol revisits sketch inspirations, memories with co-stars, and guest appearances — all accompanied by clips from the show.

A pioneering woman in the industry, Burnett followed this with film roles in The Front Page, Annie, Noises Off, The Four Seasons, and many more, along with her Emmy-winning guest appearance on Mad About You.

Recently, Burnett exceeded herself yet again in the gritty sixth season of Better Call Saul, playing Marion, a darkly comic character in the tense present-day moments of the series. Marion’s role in Gene’s downfall and the rest of the season was one of the highlights for many fans.
