Spoiler Alert: Spoilers for The Last of Us Season 2 Ahead
The Last of Us ended last week, easily crowning itself as one of the best series of the year and one of, if not the most successful, video game adaptation in television history. Now, fans are waiting for the arrival of the second installment, which will adapt the second part of the game.
Although Bella Ramsey recently revealed that the audience would have to wait a long time to see the new episodes, one of the creatives behind the show, Neil Druckmann, brought good news for fans of the franchise. Through his Twitter account, he revealed a poster to announce that work has already begun on the show’s next installment.

“No TLoU on HBO tonight. But Season 2 is already on its way! Endure & survive!”
The Last of Us Part 2 shifts its focus to put all its weight on Ellie, who will embark on a journey into the wild and unknown in search of Joel’s killer to avenge his death. In parallel, the game follows Abby, a young woman also seeking revenge for the murder of her father, the surgeon who was operating on Ellie and was killed by Joel.
A few days ago, Druckmann confirmed what many fans were already speculating, that to adapt the continuation of the story, they will take more than one season. So there will be The Last of Us for a while.

The Last of Us Breaks Records
HBO
With its last episode, the series had the difficult task of competing with one of the year’s most anticipated events, the Academy Awards. However, not even the most important celebration in the film industry managed to lift the show from the top. Via THR, it was revealed that throughout its first season, The Last of Us increased its audience episode after episode, and the outcome of this introduction to the story of Ellie and Joel reached 8.2 million viewers, surpassing the previous one with 8.1.
The series not only managed to beat out the Academy Awards but also another huge HBO hit: House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones spin-off. With its first six episodes, The Last of Us reached an audience record of 30.4 million, leaving George R. R. Martin’s universe series in second place with 29 million.
