‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘The Clone Wars’ Lead LEGO’s 2025 Star Wars Line-up

Dec 9, 2024

The next round of LEGO sets from the Star Wars universe is almost here, featuring everyone’s favorite bounty hunter and his beloved, pocket-sized apprentice. Alongside the Mandalorian and Grogu, other notable releases include minifigures and models from The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones — all set to drop sometime in January 2025.

In total, LEGO has announced six new sets for the sci-fi franchise, with an understandable emphasis on characters and sets from the ever-popular Mando-verse. First on the list is a set targeted towards LEGO beginners: Mando & Grogu’s N-1 Starfighter, complete with minifigures of Grogu, Din Djarin, R5, and, of course, a small model of the iconic ship featured in season three of The Mandalorian as well as The Book of Boba Fett. The second Mandalorian-themed release is a model of Grogu and his signature hover pram, accompanied by a minifigure version of Star Wars’ most adorable character. As one of the most successful shows currently streaming on Disney+, with multiple upcoming movies, it’s no wonder that the Mandalorian and Grogu seem to be the stars of this upcoming release.

The remaining four sets are iconic pieces from The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, respectively. Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor will hit shelves at just $44.99, featuring minifigures of Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker, R7-43, and the Interceptor ship. Collectors can also pick up the Acclamator-Class Assault Ship, which is a medium-scale model composed of 450 pieces. Finally, representing the most expensive sets at $69.99, LEGO will be releasing the Home One Starcruiser and the ARC-170 Starfighter, both featured across several iterations of Star Wars media.

‘Star Wars’ Continues to Dominate the LEGO World

It’s no understatement to say that Star Wars is one of LEGO’s most profitable collaborations. From a humble X-Wing Starfighter all the back in 1999, LEGO Star Wars has now become a multi-million dollar empire that shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Newer Star Wars projects such as The Mandalorian have undoubtedly contributed to this success, appealing to younger audiences while simultaneously offering a steady stream of content just waiting to be brick-ified; however, returning to sets and models inspired by older properties also indicates LEGO’s truly impressive devotion to the Star Wars universe. Although brand-new sets are an exciting prospect, it’s always nice to know that the older films and television shows haven’t been forgotten, either.

However, it’s probably a safe bet that The Mandalorian is going to dominate new LEGO releases for the next few years. Although season four of the Disney+ series seems to be less and less likely, the show’s creator hasn’t entirely given up on it. Either way, however, fans will still be able to see the Mandalorian and Grogu in their upcoming film, meaning that the characters will live on even if their show is lost to the scrap heap. In the meantime, fans can still stream The Mandalorian on Disney+, or place a pre-order for some of those LEGO sets.
