Editor’s note: The below recap contains spoilers for Bosch: Legacy Season 3 Episode 7.
Bosch: Legacy Season 3 is nearing the finishing line, and so much is still up in the air. One month after Jimmy Robertson’s (Paul Calderon) murder, we’re no closer to a perpetrator, despite the police pressuring DA Honey Chandler (Mimi Rogers), while Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) is on the hunt for who really did it. Maddie (Madison Lintz) and Detective Reina Vasquez (Denise Sanchez) are also starting to close in on the home robbers, a case that hits closer to home than Vasquez would like. Meanwhile, Mo (Stephen Chang) calls in a favor from a familiar face. Three episodes left, here we go.
Perra’s Not Off the Hook, but He’s Not on Trial Yet in ‘Bosch: Legacy’ Season 3 Episode 7
We open at Diego Perra’s (Esteban Carmona) arraignment, where he waives his statement of rights. Chandler formally charges him with six counts of armed robbery—but crucially, not with Jimmy Robertson’s murder. On her way out, Chandler refuses to talk to the press. Police Chief Hughes isn’t impressed. She calls Chandler and says it’s a bad look. Chandler doesn’t back down. “Not enough evidence,” she says. “I want justice. That’s why I want an unimpeachable case.” The Chief says the mayor will be in touch. Chandler pushes for DNA evidence to make the case airtight — and raises a good question: why would Perra be dumb enough to stash a murder weapon at his girlfriend’s house?
Assistant DAs return to the girlfriend’s home. She says Perra threw a gun in her oven — but also mentions that one night, she heard someone fiddle with her sliding glass door. She called the cops, but they did nothing. They ask if it could’ve been Perra. She says he had a key. “Then why break in?” one ADA asks. “Plausible deniability,” the other offers. “So the girlfriend don’t know the truth.”
The Case Gets Colder and Vasquez Gets Warmer in ‘Bosch: Legacy’ Season 3 Episode 7

Vasquez heads to the station to look into Victoria Hernandez’s (Andrea Cortés) phone records, while Bosch and Mo meet to discuss Finbar McShane’s (Michael Reilly Burke) sealed files. Harry doubts Mo can get them, and instead needs to retrace Robertson’s final night. Vasquez then calls in sick. Enter Maddie —she’s tailing Nestor Gomez today. Harry visits Robertson’s girlfriend, who’s making pottery and mourning in silence. She says Jimmy left her place like normal. Bosch says Jimmy was “always the smartest guy in the room.” She can’t bring herself to throw out his stuff, so Harry does it for her. In the process, he finds a valet stub from Las Palmas. Timestamp: 11 PM on November 14. A breadcrumb.
Vasquez confronts her nephew, Albert Torres (Tommy Martinez). She warns him: don’t mess with her. She lays it out — Fortune’s selling stolen goods, Nestor pawned a watch, and she knows there’s a third person involved. He denies it’s him. Says he’ll try to find out who it is. She warns him again. Later, Vasquez visits her sister. She learns Albert regularly visits their grandfather. So she follows the trail to Grandpa’s house, where she finds something damning: stolen jewelery hidden in a hat box.
Maddie Tails Nestor and Mo Plays the Long Game in ‘Bosch: Legacy’ Season 3 Episode 7

At the FBI office, Mo’s ex (played by Jessica Camacho) finds an UNO card that reads: “Lost property 8PM.” It’s a clue tied to Mo’s request for a sealed file. She’s skeptical, but he reminds her she owes him. Meanwhile, Maddie tails Nestor Gomez to a shop—he’s meeting with Albert. Albert spots Maddie and warns Nestor. She snaps a photo of him. Things are closing in.
Councilman Patrick Curry (Jeremy Glazer) hears someone’s been asking questions about him. He shows up at Chandler’s office for a “friendly” visit. Says his endorsement helped her win. Then drops the real message: “Don’t alienate important people. Like the last DA did.” Translation: I’m watching you. Back to the case—Perra’s DNA was not found on the murder weapon. Meanwhile, Albert takes stolen jewelry to a dealer—it’s worth around $100K. Maddie keeps digging and finds Albert’s full name on Nestor’s Instagram. She runs the name through call logs and databases, and sees an Albert Torres with a link to Reina Vasquez. Uh-oh.
Maddie visits Bosch. She says she suspects Vasquez is crossing a line to protect someone. Someone dangerous. Harry doesn’t give her an answer—he gives her a choice. “You have to decide how much of the gray you’re willing to live in.” She asks: “What if they’ve already crossed it?” Harry: “Just because they haven’t done the right thing yet doesn’t mean they won’t when the time comes.” Albert and Victoria (Fortune’s real name) lie in bed. He suggests skipping town. She says they need money. He says not to worry. Later, she sees family photos on the fridge — and recognizes Vasquez. Uh-oh. Again.

‘Bosch: Legacy’s Shocking Death Just Changed the Show Forever
This just set off an unprecedented chain reaction.
Mo’s FBI ex returns with the sealed file. It reveals McShane had an accomplice — a former informant and disgraced agency asset. She asks Mo why he never exposed her for what she did back in Season 2. “Didn’t want to close that door.” She leaves. “For now.” Maddie stops by Vasquez’s place with soup. Casual. But the air is thick. Maddie says they tailed Nestor, and he met someone. Vasquez already knows. Maddie cuts to it: “We need to talk about your nephew.”
Bosch learns from the DEA that Robertson met with an agent the night he died. He was asking about wire chats referencing “black ice.” Harry connects the dots — the valet ticket was an invitation to an execution. Robertson was working a cold case, a “Juan Doe” migrant murdered and dumped in South LA. It involved black ice and fentanyl. The DNA on the bullets found in Robertson’s body matches bullets from the Juan Doe case. Bosch doesn’t believe it’s a coincidence. “It’s the work of the sicarios,” he tells Chandler, as the episode ends. This is no longer about robbery crews or corrupt cops. This is bigger. A cartel is sending a message. Seven episodes in, and the black ice is only beginning to crack.
