Tom Cruise Loved THE FLASH So Much, He Called the Director “To Rave About It” — GeekTyrant

Mar 24, 2023

The Flash has been getting a lot of praise from the people who have seen it and are allowed to talk about it. DC Studios head James Gunn previously said that the Andy Muschietti-directed movie is “probably one of the greatest superhero movies ever made.”Now, Top Gun: Maverick star Tom Cruise has seen the movie, and according to THR, he loved it so much that he “cold-called” the movie’s director “to rave about it.”It’s explained that Cruise had a meeting with Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, and after mentioning how great the movie was, Cruise asked to see it. So, Zaslav had a copy of the movie sent over to Cruise to watch.A Warners employee showed up at Cruise’s home in Beverly Hills with the film and stayed until the actor finished watching it. When Cruise was finished, the movie was given back to the messenger, who returned it to the studio.Sources then say, “Cruise was so taken by what he saw that soon after, he reached out to Muschietti. It was a call out of the blue for the director. Cruise is said to have raved about the movie, saying something to the effect that ‘Flash is everything you want in a movie,’ and ‘this is the kind of movie we need now.’”That must’ve been an awesome experience for Muschietti! Who knows, maybe one day Cruise will reach out to the filmmaker to have him direct one of his future film projects.Cruise is still riding high on his epic success of Top Gun: Maverick and Steven Speilberg recently told him, “You saved Hollywood’s ass, and you might have saved theatrical distribution.” There seems to be a lot of excitement around the release of The Flash, and most people I talk to about it are mostly on board because Michael Keaton is back as Batman. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when this movie is released and if fans flock to theaters to watch it, or if it will meet the same fate as Shazam! Fury of the Gods with a disappointing box office launch.Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to,” says the synopsis. “That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian… albeit not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe? The film also stars Ezra Miller, Ben Affleck as Batman, and Sasha Calle as Supergirl, along with Ron Livingston and Maribel Verdú who are playing Barry’s parents. Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls) and internet personality Rudy Mancuso have also been cast in undisclosed roles. The Flash will be released on June 23rd, 2023.Do you think The Flash is going to be a big box office hit!?
