Tom Hiddleston Returning For At Least One More Season Of The Thriller Series
Feb 27, 2023
It seems like a million years ago, because so much has happened in the realm of prestige TV since, but the BBC/AMC thriller series, “The Night Manager,” was only released back in 2016. However, it’s been long enough that folks just assumed that one season of the John le Carré adaptation was all we’d ever get. Well, that not only appears to be false, but we might actually be getting two more seasons of Tom Hiddleston goodness.

According to Deadline, even though Amazon and BBC have yet to make it official, work is being done to bring “The Night Manager” back for at least one more season. The series, which stars Tom Hiddleston in the title role, follows the night manager of a hotel, who also happens to be a former British solider, as he is tasked with infiltrating the inner circle of an arms dealer (played by Hugh Laurie). Exact details are unknown, but the second season is expected to pick up years after the first when the night manager (Hiddleston) discovers that the arms dealer is now dead and a new deadly challenge has emerged.
In addition to the incredible cast, the original series also saw the directorial stylings of Susanne Bier. It’s unclear who will be directing the second season, but we do know that David Farr, the original writer for the series, is set to pen the upcoming new episodes.

Again, the report claims that Amazon and BBC have yet to officially give the second season a green light, but filming is expected to begin later this year. Now, you may remember the first season not only aired on BBC but on AMC in the US. It appears that for the upcoming seasons, Prime Video is going to be in on the action, so we’ll see how it all shakes out.
If filming begins this year, we should expect “The Night Manager” to make its triumphant return sometime in 2024.
