‘Twisted Metal’s Stephanie Beatriz Debunks Wild AI Claims About Season 2
Aug 8, 2025
Stephanie Beatriz continues to dominate television screens after her career-defining performance in the hit comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, with the actor now in a major role in the Peacock series Twisted Metal, an adaptation of the video game of the same name. The series recently released the first four episodes of its second season, and to promote Twisted Metal, Beatriz joined ScreenRant to discuss some AI-generated information about her character in the series, as well as the various aspects and details that went into her performance. What followed was some hilarious and sometimes comedically incorrect details that Beatriz was more than happy to debunk, helping to clarify any misconceptions ahead of the second season. Beatriz plays Quiet in Twisted Metal, a character made for the series who isn’t from the video games. When the AI-generated response pertained to her character’s arc in Season 2, Beatriz was happy to elaborate on what her character would be doing in the new episodes. The actor said of Quiet: “She wants to make the world a more equal place for everyone… There are people, after this apocalypse happens, who get trapped inside the cities, and they’re the safe ones. And then there are outsiders, like Quiet and John Doe, played by Anthony Mackie. But who gets to say who’s an insider and an outsider? And how come these cities have just put up walls?” The AI response also made a claim about one scene in Twisted Metal, which involved Beatriz’s character throwing an axe at Anthony Mackie, saying that it was one of the hardest scenes to shoot. Beatriz would end up debunking this bold claim, saying:
“False, easy to film! Anthony just has a big head, and it happened to be in the way of my axe going toward its target. I cannot help it that I’m good at throwing axes, and poor Anthony can’t help it that his head is so big.”

When the subject turned to Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Beatriz had to debunk another false claim about what her favorite scene in the series was. While she did claim to enjoy the scene, it discussed Rosa being sick and on cold medicine, a difference one ended up being her favorite: “I think my favorite scene in the entire series was probably Chelsea Peretti as Gina Linetti winning the Halloween Heist, where her teeth are blacked out. They were blacked out in real life… She’s an incredible comedian, writer, and performer. She’s hilarious.” Although AI may have gotten some specific (and personal) information about Beatriz wrong, it mostly hit the right notes when it came to information about Twisted Metal Season 2. The new episodes being centered around a 16-driver death race, is, in the actor’s words, “all true,” adding a humorous comment that she thinks the “AI is reading the Sony Peacock PR drops because this is spot on.” Twisted Metal isn’t a series that should work conceptually, as the video game lacks the extensive lore and character development found in something like The Last of Us. However, that hasn’t stopped the creators of the series from creating something entertaining, as Beatriz would mention in the same interview that “we are smashing into cars and blowing stuff up in the apocalypse, but [it’s] not a sad apocalypse. You’ve just got to survive, and it’s a lot of fun.” Twisted Metal currently drops two new episodes every Thursday on Peacock.
