Morena Baccarin, who played Vanessa in the Deadpool franchise, gives an encouraging Deadpool 3 return update. One of the most highly anticipated Marvel Studios projects is Deadpool 3 with Ryan Reynolds back as Wade Wilson. Deadpool 3 will mark the Merc with a Mouth’s official Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. This will make Deadpool one of the biggest and most established mutants in the MCU. How Reynolds will factor into future Marvel Studios movies remains to be seen.

As filming is reportedly starting in May, one cast member’s status is still unknown. While appearing on Inside of You With Michael Rosenbaum, Baccarin spoke about her potential Deadpool 3 future. Baccarin, who played Vanessa in the first two films, confirmed that she and Marvel Studios are having conversations. At this time, no deal has been made, but they are trying to work something out.

Yeah, what is up with Deadpool 3? That’s a really good question. I have to be very diplomatic about what I say here. I’d like to be in it. They have called me about being in it. Right now, we have not agreed on terms, and everybody’s trying their best, and doing their best. It may or may not work out. I don’t know.

Everything We Know About Deadpool 3 & How Morena Baccarin Could Return

Deadpool 3 will follow the previous two films and remain an R-rated movie. Shawn Levy is officially attached to direct after working with Reynolds on The Adam Project. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote the two first installments, also penned the Deadpool 3 screenplay. The Deadpool threequel will be the first MCU film to launch Phase 6.

While storyline is under wraps, Hugh Jackman will be reprising the role of Wolverine. Beyond Jackman, Deadpool 3 also cast Matthew Macfadyen and Emma Corrin in mystery roles. If Baccarin were to play Vanessa again in Deadpool 3, she’d join fellow returning stars Karan Soni and Leslie Uggams, reprising their roles of Dopinder and Blind Al respectively.

In terms of how Baccarin might fit into the story of Deadpool 3, that remains to be seen. Vanessa died at the beginning of Deadpool 2, but was revived using time travel by the end of the movie. If the actress doesn’t reach a deal, it’s unclear how Deadpool 3 might address Vanessa’s absence or if they’ll recast the role. Since Deadpool 3 will start filming soon, news of a deal – lack of one – may arrive soon.
