Venom 3 Gets First New Cast Member In Over 6 Months

Feb 21, 2024

Summary

Clark Backo, The Changeling and Letterkenny star, joins Venom 3, though her character is a mystery.
The only other newcomers to the franchise are Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor, but their roles have been kept secret.
The Tom Hardy Marvel movie is currently filming, with a release date set for November 2024.

Venom 3 adds a new cast member to Tom Hardy’s Marvel trilogy finale as Eddie Brock’s return to the big screen approaches. While there have been few confirmed Venom 3 updates, Hardy’s trilogy finale is on its way as they are still filming his latest Marvel installment. Venom 3 will be the first time a character in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe has completed a trilogy and perhaps the only one, given the recent struggles of the rest of the franchise.

While Venom 3 is still in the midst of filming, Variety reports that The Changeling star Clark Backo has joined Sony’s Spider-Man Universe in the threequel. Sony Pictures has yet to confirm Backo’s Venom 3 casting. Further, the report does not specify who the actress may be playing in the movie.

Who Clark Backo Could Be Playing In Venom 3
The Actress’s Role Is Being Kept Under Wraps

To this point, the Venom 3 cast has been a heavily guarded secret, as they have only added two other cast members aside from Backo: Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor. However, similar to Backo, both of their roles are being kept a mystery, making it hard to figure out who any of them are playing in the movie. Even though there have been Venom 3 set photos and videos shared online, no clues have been given about these characters.

In the latest addition’s case, Backo could potentially be playing a new ally to Eddie in Venom 3 or perhaps an enemy, as the big bad for the trilogy finale has yet to be confirmed. There is also the possibility that Backo could be a new love interest for Eddie as he begins to move on from Anne. But until BTS details emerge through production or Sony reveals any further information, time will tell who Backo is actually playing in Venom 3.

Venom 3 Director Kelly Marcel Release Date November 8, 2024 Writers Kelly Marcel

Given that Venom 3 is only nine months away from its theatrical release, new details are bound to come out as Sony Pictures gets marketing underway. With Venom 3 being shrouded in secrecy, the movie must have something big set up for Eddie, especially after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Hopefully, once Venom 3 is done filming, it won’t be long until the first trailer is released to the world to get them ready for Eddie’s potentially final cinematic adventure.
