Wingmans Krabby Patty Review: Soho’s Best Burger
Oct 26, 2024
To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of SpongeBob Squarepants Wingmans Soho delivered a very special Krabby Patty burger to celebrate this wonderful occasion.
The burger went down a storm but with it only being available until October 27th we had to get ourselves down to Soho to see what all the fuss was about.
Whilst Wingmans are known for their chicken wings I wasn’t expecting the burger to be much of anything but when this £15 burger arrived at my table there was an essence to it that gave me hope that I was in for a treat.
Each burger comes with some Seaweed fries and a custom-designed SpongeBob box to keep as a souvenir.
The Krabby Patty is made with a smashed aged beef patty dripping with Bone Marrow, Braised Onion Caramel & topped with American and Monterey Jack Cheese, Yellow Mustard, Pickles and Wingmans Secret Sauce.
Whilst the burger was a little small for the price paid the flavour was worth the price and more. Oozing with that onion caramel flavour slapping my tongue along with that Monterey jack cheese the burger was nothing short of superb. If I had one negative it would be the fries, whilst they were salty they lacked that smack-your-face flavour and they were a little disappointed as I had to rely on some complimentary ketchup just to give them a little boost.
Having two types of cheese in the burger strangely enough didn’t overpower the burger in any way and it was the Wingmans Secret Sauce that proved the star of the show as it was very tasty and I can see why Plankton wanted to steal the recipe from Mr Krabs, it was THAT good.
It’s a shame that this burger is a limited edition only, when the collaboration is over Wingmans should continue selling this burger under another name as it really was the best Soho burger I’ve ever tasted!
This is an exclusive collaboration between Wingmans, Paramount, and Nickelodeon and the box along with the paper wrapping certainly added that SpongeBob charm to it. Not only is the collaboration exclusive but the location as Wingmans Soho is the only place in the UK where you can purchase this exclusive meal.
Wendy’s in America did their own Krabby Patty but it drew hundreds of complaints from people who thought the offering was lazy as it wasn’t a new Burger whatsoever, it was a current burger with zero effort made to package and present it as a Krabby Patty.
Wingmans wiped the floor with Wendys in terms of packaging and presentation but it’s a real shame that this wonderful little partnership comes to an end soon. I’m glad I made the trip from Sunny Stoke to London to try out this Anniversary Spongebob celebration burger.
Check out a little video I did in this article of my visit to London to check out this burger with my friend Hayley who runs a YouTube channel with her husband called Adventure_TimesUK.
