Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire is the first of two Rebel Moon films that Netflix will release. The movie follows a young woman named Kora (Sofia Boutella) who assembles a team of warriors to help her fight against a giant, evil Empire that is threatening her peaceful planet.During a recent interview with GamesRadar, Snyder offered a little tease of the end of the first movie saying that it’s going to end with a cliffhanger. He said:”The truth is that movie one is a set-up for movie two. The end is a crazy cliffhanger that launches you into The Scargiver.”We’ll only have to wait a few months before Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver will be released. When talking about the two films, the filmmaker explained how they will have different tones:”Tonally, they’re very different movies. In Part 1 we spend a lot of time in the village, having this real relationship to the place and people. So that when we actually have to fight and die for them, we care about them.”When previously talking about The Scargiver title and how the sequel is going to be different than the first film, the filmmaker went on to say:“[Kora’s] nickname is the Scargiver, which is also related to her relationship with Princess Issa. Those two myths are braided together in a pretty cool way, I think. The second movie is really a war movie. At the beginning they harvest the crops, and we have a bunch of stuff in the village, sort of the ‘Why We Fight’ aspect of the movie. We have time for relationships. Then the next thing is the big battle. It’s really fun.” In the story, a “peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius. They dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand against the Tyrant.”This is a two-part film and each part will come with an R-rated edition that fans can watch as well. The movie stars Charlie Hunnam, Ed Skrein, Bae Doona, Djimon Hounsou. Ray Fisher, Jena Malone, Ed Skrein, Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huisman, Anthony Hopkins, and Alfonso Herrera.Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire is scheduled to arrive on Netflix on December 22nd following a limited theatrical release. Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver is coming in April 2024.
