Zack Snyder’s Epic Fantasy Animated Series Arrives In September
Jun 12, 2024
After being in development for years, we finally got our first look at Zack Snyder’s long-awaited epic fantasy series, “Twilight of the Gods.” And yes, it’s just as violent and bloody as you’d imagine a Zack Snyder cartoon would be.

Considering it’s just a teaser, there’s actually quite a bit crammed in the short clip for “Twilight of the Gods.” Not much in the way of plot, mind you. Just lots and lots and LOTS of battles with blood all over the place. This is clearly not a cartoon for children. And that’s perfectly fine. Fans of Snyder’s films will likely really be excited by what’s on display. “Twilight of the Gods” follows the story of warrior husband and wife Sigrid and Leif, who both go on a mission of vengeance to take out the Norse gods.
The ensemble voice cast includes Sylvia Hoeks, Stuart Martin, Rahul Kohli, Paterson Joseph, Jamie Clayton, Pilou Asbæka, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Kristofer Hivju, Thea Sofie Loch Næss, John Noble, and Peter Stormare.
“Twilight of the Gods” is expected to arrive on Netflix on September 19. You can watch the teaser below.
Here’s the synopsis:
Zack Snyder presents TWILIGHT OF THE GODS, an all-new daring and spectacular animated vision of Norse mythology. In a mythical world of great battles, great deeds and great despair, LEIF, a mortal King, is saved on the battlefield by SIGRID, an iron-willed warrior with whom he falls in love. On their wedding night, SIGRID and LEIF survive a wrath of terror from THOR, which sets them – and a crew of crusaders – on an against all odds and merciless mission for vengeance. This heroic story of love, loss and revenge, is a journey to Hell and beyond… across fantastical lands, battlefields fierce and bloody, and wars waged against Gods and demons.
