Josh Brolin “Hears Through the Grapevine” That Thanos Will Return to the MCU — GeekTyrant

Mar 2, 2024

Josh Brolin, the actor who took on the role of Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has recently made some interesting comments about the potential return of the Mad Titan to the MCU.In a recent interview with CB, the subject of Thanos’ many deaths came up with Brolin. Thanos met his end not once, but twice, in Avengers: Endgame, on top of that, his various incarnations faced their own demises in the animated series What If…?, and he was also killed by the Illuminati in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. When the topic of Thanos’s potential return came up, Brolin teased, “You know, I hear kind of like through the grapevine, that they’re gonna bring him back. And there’s the What If…? series and that’s a different kind of Thanos and all that. But I don’t know in the Marvel world whether they’re going to bring him back, but I didn’t know that he was the most killed-off Marvel villain … You learn something new every day.” As you might imagine, Brolin’s remarks have sparked a flurry of speculation and excitement among some MCU fans. It’s certainly interesting to think that Thanos could return again, but who knows if it will actually happen. Thanos’ character was pivotal to the overarching narrative of the MCU in The Infinity Saga, serving as the primary antagonist in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. His complex motivations and grand vision of balancing the universe through mass genocide made him an incredibly compelling villain. Given the character’s significance, it wouldn’t be entirely surprising if Marvel Studios found a creative way to bring him back into the fold. One possibility for Thanos’ return could be through the What If…? series, which explores alternate realities and possibilities within the MCU. This series could offer more opportunities to explore different facets of the character and potentially resurrect him in some form.Another avenue for Thanos’ return could involve the multiverse concept, which has become a central theme in the MCU. It’s certainly plausible that a version of Thanos from an alternate reality could pop up at some point. It’d be fine if Thanos never did come back as he already had a great story arc that played out, and they don’t need to bring him back as there are plenty of other great villains in the Marvel universe to utilize in the future of the franchise.
