The official trailer has just been released for Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson, and Miles Teller’s upcoming crime drama Paper Tiger. The film centers on brothers Gary and Irwin Pearl (played by Driver and Teller), who come face to face with the Russian mafia after they get involved in a business endeavor that proves to be more than they bargained for. Their family is targeted, and the bonds that tie them together fracture. Two-time Oscar nominee Johansson plays Irwin’s wife, Hester.

A month after the teaser release, Neon has shared the full-length trailer for Paper Tiger, which reveals even more intense drama that moviegoers can expect when the film arrives in theaters on November 13. Check out the trailer below:

The Paper Tiger trailer begins with the two brothers embracing as Gary shows up at Irwin and Hester’s house. Everyone’s all smiles, but the Pearls’ kids ask their uncle if he still has his gun. He shows it to them and winks, hinting at the dangers to come. Gary and Irwin get down to business and discuss a new opportunity that has come their way that could benefit not only them but also their entire family. Later, Hester enters the kitchen with a concerned look on her face and asks her husband, “What’s wrong?” He replies that there was a problem down in the canal, “and it’s led to some things.” Irwin explains that he walked into something he wasn’t meant to see. When Hester asks if the boys were involved, Irwin looks away, seemingly unable to give her a straight answer. Hester wants to call the police and assures her sons that she and Irwin won’t “let anything happen to you.” Gary lashes out at his brother for sticking his nose “where it didn’t belong” because now he has to come in and fix everything. Hester is also angry at Irwin for putting their children’s lives in jeopardy, as a clip is shown of one of their sons in the back of a car with a knife inches from his face. Gary and Irwin are told that the Russian mafia is “coming in like a tidal wave,” and no one wants to be on the receiving end of their wrath. Aside from being targeted, the brothers are now at odds with each other and even get into a physical altercation. The trailer ends with Gary assuring his brother that everything will work itself out, but Irwin admits, “I don’t know if I can believe that.”

James Gray, who has directed films like Armageddon Time, Little Odessa, The Lost City of Z and Ad Astra, helmed Paper Tiger and wrote the script. His producing team includes Rodrigo Teixeira, Anthony Katagas, Raffaella Leone, Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, Gary Farkas, Marco Perego, Carlo Salem and Andrea Bucko.

Paper Tiger debuted in May at the Cannes Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Palme d’Or award, and will next screen at the New York Film Festival on September 25. Early reviews for Paper Tiger have been mostly positive so far, with critics praising Gray’s storytelling abilities, and the movie earning an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. Paper Tiger will be released in theaters on Friday, November 13, 2026.
