Mar 12, 2024
Joe and Anthony Russo the filmmakers behind Avengers: Infinity and Avengers: Endgame are producing a pirate movie titled The Bluff through their ARGO Studios banner for Amazon MGM Studios. Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Citadel) and Karl Urban (The Boys) are set to star in the movie. The film is co-written and directed by Frank E. Flowers, who wrote the recently released biopic Bob Marley: One Love. He wrote the script alongside Joe Ballarini. The story is set in the 19th century Caribbean, The Bluff follows “a former female pirate (Chopra Jonas) who must protect her family when the mysterious sins of her past catch up to her.” There’s no word on who Urban will play, but it’s not hard to imagine him in the role of a pirate!I enjoy pirate movies, and it’s great to see a pirate movie being developed that isn’t a Pirates of the Caribbean movie from Disney. The film will be shot in Australia and will be available to stream on Prime Video.Source: Deadline
