A spoilerish synopsis for Deadpool & Wolverine has revealed the possible extent of the titular duo’s multiverse shenanigans, which will reportedly put Avengers: Endgame’s time heist in the shade. The highly anticipated movie will be released on July 26 and is expected to be one of the biggest movies of 2024. Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will reportedly not only be crossing the boundaries of the Fox Universe on their way into the MCU, but will find themselves facing multiple villains and revisiting iconic moments from Phases 1-4 of the MCU.

The film’s premise involves the Time Variance Authority (TVA), first introduced in the Disney+ series Loki, recruiting Deadpool in order to prevent the collapse of several universes. Based on the synopsis that was shared and subsequently reworded on Zazzle, the film will then see Deadpool recruiting a beaten Wolverine who has been hiding out in the MCU since escaping his own collapsing world. The pair will then take off across the expanse of the multiverse to see off various villains in some very familiar scenes to long-term Marvel fans. You can check out the synopsis as it originally appeared in the post shared on X/Twitter.

The removal of the synopsis does suggest that there is some truth in the description, and that in turn will once again set fans speculating on which particular scenes and Marvel villains could now be featured in the film.

Will Deadpool & Wolverine Break the MCU, or Fix It?

The concept of Deadpool and Wolverine tampering with MCU’s timeline opens up numerous possibilities for unexpected cameos and some familiar scenes being revisited in R-rated Deadpool fashion. There have been several rumors of the pair crossing paths with some big MCU stars – and as we have seen in Deadpool 2, sometimes those stars don’t even have to have returned for it to happen. This means that there is very little off the cards for a movie that seems set to break not only the fourth wall but all previous multiverse movies.

Fans have been actively sharing their own theories of who they would like to see appear in the movie, drawing inspiration from decades of Marvel Comics crossovers that have seen the likes of Captain America, Hulk, Thor, and others all come into the orbit of the Merc with a Mouth and his new on-screen best buddy. While it would be foolish to predict such appearances in any other MCU movie, this is clearly not your average Marvel Studios offering.

Related Deadpool & Wolverine Is ‘The Most Deadpool Movie In The History Of Deadpool,’ Says Ryan Reynolds Ryan Reynolds expressed his love for Hugh Jackman, and teased the tone of Deadpool & Wolverine.

Naturally, revisiting older Marvel scenes will allow Reynold’s Deadpool to deliver some merciless putdowns for the past of the franchise, and can open up some interesting and comical scenarios that will certainly hit the mark for fans of Deadpool’s risqué humor. How others take the jibes aimed at their beloved MCU is something that will ultimately either make or break the film’s box office potential.

Deadpool & Wolverine will land in cinemas in just over two months’ time on July 26, so we can expect at least one more trailer to drop before the movie’s debut.
