movie, set to release in 2025.
As if the cast of Fantastic Four wasn’t already, well, fantastic enough, Marvel Studios recently announced that Ralph Ineson will be lending his legendary voice to one of Marvel’s most dangerous villains, Galactus. Following the announcement, Ineson took to social media to confirm the report and joke with fans about the upcoming role. In a short and sweet post on X/Twitter, Ralph Ineson responded to Variety’s post announcing his casting, writing:
“World devouring cosmic villain is it? I’ll see what I can do”
While some may recognize Ralph Ineson’s face from his performances in The First Omen and The Witch, many more will recognize his distinct voice. Ineson has brought his deep Yorkshire baritone to numerous roles across his decades-long career. Ineson has voiced characters in The Legend of Vox Machina, The Dark Crystal, The Green Knight (which he also physically appeared in, behind a lot of make-up), and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, as well as video games like Diablo IV,Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and Final Fantasy XVI.
Ineson is joining the already amazing cast of the MCU’s Fantastic Four, which includes Pedro Pascal (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Susan Storm), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm) and Ebon Moss-Bacharach (The Thing). Marvel Studios have also begun announcing the film’s supporting cast, which includes Julia Garner as The Silver Surfer, and John Malkovich in a mystery role.

Fan Reactions to Ralph Ineson’s Galactus Casting
Marvel fans are a notoriously fickle bunch, a fact which isn’t helped by the diminishing quality of recent MCU entries. However, the fan base seems to be on board with Ineson’s casting as Galactus. Comments under Ineson’s Tweet are overwhelmingly supportive. The messages include one user saying “You’ll do great!!!” over an ominous GIF of Galactus, while another said “Welcome to Marvel family!” Some of the Tweets referenced Ralph Ineson’s recurring role in the UK version of the hit sitcom The Office, featuring screenshots from the actor’s time on the show.
No plot details have been revealed about the MCU’s Fantastic Four movie, outside what fans have deducted from the casting announcements. However, the film’s director, Matt Shackman, has teased the project in interviews. Speaking to ComicBook.com in 2023, Shackman declared that his Fantastic Four film will be unlike any other Marvel Studios film. The director said:
“It’s different in so many ways. I wish I could be specific. I wish I could say more. But we are doing things very differently from a story standpoint, from an approach to the filmmaking standpoint, that really fits the material. I wish I could say more. I would love to, but I can’t. But I think it’s going to be unlike anything you’ve seen before, and certainly unlike anything at Marvel that you’ve seen before.”
