Ryan Reynolds Shares His Original Plans For DEADPOOL 3 and New Images Reveal Another Cameo — GeekTyrant

Jul 9, 2024

Marvel Studios has released a few new images for Deadpool & Wolverine thanks to Entertainment Weekly, and another X-Men cameo has been revealed. Director Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds also offer some additional insight. The stills that were shared feature a variety of characters including Deadpool, Wolverine, and Cassandra Nova, and in one of them, you can see a variant or Lady Deathstrike! She is standing behind Nova. In their interview, Reynolds talked about the early plans for Deadpool 3, saying: “Literally, it was a $5 or $6 million budget with no special effects. It was just a talkie-talkie road trip with me and [Karan Soni’s character] Dopinder and some of the things we collected and saw along the way.”He added: “It wasn’t meant to be an event movie. If we’re on our way to Point C, it was meant to just get us to Point B. That was the weirdest one. I liked it. I thought it was kind of fun.”That actually sounds like it could’ve been a fun and interesting movie. Sure, Deadpool and Wolverine teaming up is a much better and more marketable idea, but I still think the smaller version of the film would’ve worked. Shawn Levy also shared that before jumping onto the Deadpool movie, he was eyed to direct The Flash movie for “a brief moment in time.” He went on to talk about the characters they wanted to being into Deadpool & Wolverine, saying:”We didn’t want any of the cameos or characters to be the story of the movie. But they are peppered in throughout. There’s a lot of characters. The internet is a delight of rumors about the multitude of character cameos that are in this movie. Some rumors are true, some are way off base.”He added: “Wade himself is a fan. Without giving anything away about the various universes the different characters live in. Because he’s in some ways a fawning motormouthed little fanboy himself, it allows the movie to call out and reference a ton of deep-cut Marvel references.”It’s going to be a blast to see what characters and actors actually ended up popping up in this film. We know there’s going to be a ton of them! The movie stars Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds as Wade, Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic as Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen as a TVA Agent, and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al. They are joined by Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna, who will also return to the franchise as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend Yukio. It was previously confirmed that Jennifer Garner will return as Elektra in the movie.Deadpool & Wolverine will hit theaters on July 26th!
