The Crow releases a new clip as part of its presence at San Diego Comic-Con, showcasing Bill Skarsgård in action as Eric Draven. After the release of the original The Crow in 1994, which starred the late Brandon Lee, a new reimagining is now on the way from director Rupert Sanders. 2024’s The Crow follows Skarsgård’s resurrected Draven as he embarks on a mission for vengeance after he and his lover, played by FKA twigs, are brutally murdered.

Lionsgate now releases a new clip from The Crow after first making it available to attendees at SDCC. Attendees were given exclusive posters with QR codes on them, and the QR codes would lead to a new action-packed clip. Check it out below:

The clip sees Skarsgård attempting to kill Danny Huston’s character and ending up inside his SUV. Chaos ensues, and Draven ultimately ends up with several bullet holes and a very graphic broken leg on the pavement of a tunnel.

Will Bill Skarsgård Make A Good Action Hero In The Crow?
Why There’s Reason To Be Optimistic Regarding His Eric Draven Portrayal

While trailers for The Crow have teased some of Skarsgård action sequences as Draven in the film, this clip is really the first time audiences have been given a proper look at the actor in action. So far, things are looking promising, especially since Draven is far from a typical action hero. What makes Draven unique is that he actually absorbs a lot of punishment, and that, without his unique abilities, he would be killed.

Draven is resurrected by a crow after his death, and the mystical animal bestows him with various supernatural abilities.

Skargård is perhaps still best known for his starring role as Pennywise the Clown in the IT franchise, but he’s also appeared in the likes of Barbarian and as part of the cast of John Wick: Chapter 4. While all cement his talents as an actor, none of these roles have really been action-oriented. Skarsgård, however, isn’t without experience as an action hero. The actor recently appeared in Boys Kills World, which earned mixed reviews from critics and was relatively under-seen, but does prove that Skarsgård can convincingly dish out punishment during action sequences.

Related 7 Reasons To Be Optimistic For The Crow’s Remake, Despite The Backlash The Crow may be a cult classic from the 90s, but the remake releasing in 2024 is more promising than most critics currently give it credit for.

While Boys Kills World’s reviews weren’t glowing, the film still suggests that, purely from a physicality point of view, Skarsgård will be believable as Draven. The clip above reinforces that the action filmmaking featured in the movie will be up to snuff, as the sequence above is hard-hitting and brutal while still being entertaining. Many questions still remain about 2024’s The Crow, but the film is certainly looking like it will be taking advantage of its R rating.
