‘For All Mankind’ Sets Season 5 Release Date Alongside Trailer and Photos

Jan 22, 2026

Apple TV has revealed the premiere date and first look at For All Mankind Season 5, teasing the imminent return of the globally acclaimed, hit space drama. The streamer has officially locked in a Mar. 27 launch date for the fifth season, which means its T-minus two months (or thereabouts) until lift-off, with one new episode debuting every Friday after that, through May 29. Fans of the alt-history, sci-fi show have had a long break between Seasons 4 and 5, with the previous installment having aired its finale back in January 2024, but now the wait is almost over and returning viewers have their first sneak peek at what’s to come. For All Mankind Season 4 concluded with a nine-year time jump from 2003 to 2012, bringing the show into a more contemporary alternate history and setting the stage for major developments on Mars. The synopsis for Season 5 confirms that the story “picks up in the years since the Goldilocks asteroid heist. Happy Valley has grown into a thriving colony with thousands of residents and a base for new missions that will take us even further into the solar system. But with the nations of Earth now demanding law and order on the Red Planet, friction continues to build between the people who live on Mars and their former home.”

For All Mankind Season 5’s teaser trailer positions Sean Kaufman (The Summer I Turned Pretty) as a key player in the next chapter of the sci-fi saga, representing the new face of the next generation. He portrays Alex Poletov Baldwin, the son of Kelly Baldwin and grandson of Ed Baldwin. Suited up in his finest astronaut best, Alex is shown journeying across the dusty Martian surface riding a high-tech dirt bike. Ed provides an ominous voiceover, underscoring his importance. “Everything that’s happened has led to this moment,” he says. “You’re gonna do things that people can’t even fathom. It’s on you to make the next move.”
‘For All Mankind’ Season 5: Who’s in the Cast?

The first-look photos for the fifth season of For All Mankind (above) offer a glimpse at some of the other characters who were absent from the teaser. The ensemble cast returning for another slice of space action includes Joel Kinnaman, Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña, and Wrenn Schmidt, alongside new series regulars Mireille Enos as Celia Boyd, a member of the Peacekeeper Security Force; Costa Ronin as Lenya, a Soviet politician and former cosmonaut; Ruby Cruz as Lily Dale, the daughter of Miles Dale; Ines Asserson as A.J. Jarrett, a U.S. space Marine; and, of course, Sean Kaufman as a grown-up Alex Baldwin.

For All Mankind is created by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi. Wolpert and Nedivi serve as showrunners and executive producers alongside Moore and Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions, as well as Kira Snyder, David Weddle, Bradley Thompson, and Seth Edelstein. The show has been well-received by critics and audiences throughout its four-season run, which is reflected in its Rotten Tomatoes scores, where Season 1 sits at 75%, Season 2 at 100%, Season 3 at 94%, and Season 4 at 100%, setting expectations incredibly high for the forthcoming fifth season that, once again, consists of 10 episodes.

For All Mankind Season 5 will premiere on Mar. 27, followed by one new episode every Friday through May 29.
